HORRIBLE AUDIO DELAYS January 2, 2009 Got this unit for Christmas. When copying VHS to DVD, there was horrible audio / video syncronization problems ranging from a couple of milliseconds to 3 or 4 seconds. Made it absolutely worthless. Took it back and got a Toshiba and the Toshiba works perfect. I like Samsung but not this unit.
DVD VHS Dual Recording covers it all...HDMI up converting December 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The playback from Cable recordings are really clear, crisp. I notice most if not all DVD recorders now only allow regular composite input from Cable or SAT box however. With this combo unit, you are able to dub either DVD to VHS or VHS to DVD, also you can record from your Cable Box or SAT box onto either format. The unit also is Blank Media flexible using either +plus or -Minus discs. You also can use DL dual layer discs. The output to your TV has it all covered however, allowing your Component, Composite or HDMI out. Therefore you can watch recordings up to 1080i/p . Users are also able to control their box with the included IR cable and make adjustments for screen aspect sizes, as well as grey and blacks. This is a fine machine and at a good price.
great product December 27, 2008 This was a great purchase. In a matter of 10 minutes I was happily copying my VHS tape from 1994 onto a DVD. The recording was so much sharper and clearer than even what was on the VHS tape. One other neat thing is that everytime the VHS tape changed dates, it made a new "chapter" on the DVD. You can view things by the chapter dates or you can watch the entire DVD nonstop. Also, I noticed on another review that someone mentioned they forgot to finalize the DVD at the end. A shortcut to that is to choose "easy dubbing" and it will automatically finalize the DVD for you when you push the eject button. A very worthwhile purchase.
Great Product December 23, 2008 This is a great product. It does what it is supposed to do. It is easy to use.
DON'T BUY FOR DUBBING VHS TAPES December 22, 2008 WARNING!!! Do not buy this samsung vr375 if you plan on dubbing old VHS tapes to DVD, like some of the previous reviews stated, the audio is completely out of sync with the video. And to make things worse, if you go forward to the next chapter, the audio completely disappears!!! STAY FAR AWAY!
