Only if you live next door to the radio transmitter October 12, 2008 I purchased this product and the reception is TERRIBLE - a complete waste of money.
Great for Insomniacs April 29, 2008 I must listen to a radio to put myself to sleep. I need it in the middle of the night when I wake up. This little radio has excellent controls that are easy to use in the dark. It has 10 FM presets and five AM presets. Best feature is a 90 minute timer that shuts the radio off and saves batteries.
THIS IS THE ONE April 25, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The reception of this unit is very good, nice and clear and better than my car and it is really light enough for a shirt pocket. I have been looking for a radio primarily to listen to Baseball games, either at the park, at home or out of town. I have purchased every Sony, Coby and Nike model on the market trying to find one that has decent reception. I thought poor reception was just a given in radios this size but this one blows them all out of the water, by the way The Sony models are all terrible

Excellent! Receives all am and fm stations that I want in the area. Everything works as advertised.
Expected better for such a high price August 12, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The AM worked very poorly on arrival. Figured I mostly listen to FM anyway and the FM tuner was certainly one of the better ones I've seen. I don't live close to a major city, and the cheaper ones just won't hold a station while I'm moving. Before the 90 day warranty was up, I decided that I'd better get the AM taken care of. I was unable to find a phone # in the manual, only an address to send the unit to. They also wanted you to enclose $6 to cover return shipping. I was very upset about this and was determined not to pay it - however I had no idea how to reach Sangean to complain. Instead I risked it all and opened the unit only to find that one of the wires for the internal AM antenna was not connected at all. I got the soldering iron out and delicately soldered the antenna wire in place and voila - nice clear AM. Disappointed that I had to kill an afternoon for this though. Sangean is supposed to produce high end products and one has to pay a premium for this. Quality control for such company should have caught this at the factory, there is no excuse.
