Simply Elegant - Well Worth the Price November 16, 2008 Only 15 minutes after opening the box, I was listening to my music collection! Wireless set up was simple, the player found my network immediately and was assigned an IP address by the router. The sound quality is better than I expected, it generally sounds better than the inexpensive CD player I had been using. I live in a townhouse community and all of my neighbors have wireless networks, so radio interference sometimes causes some Wifi network issues. I will investigate running an ethernet cable to the router. I highly recommend the Squeezebox!
Great But??? November 11, 2008 The squeezebox is a great piece if you like listening to many different types of music via online radio and it integrates well with your laptop to play your mp3s wirlessly, however the directions on getting set up are a little vague and you need an IT degree to figure out how to save your favorite online stations. Overall, it a great item
"Gotta have" October 26, 2008 "Gotta have", October 26, 2008 By Momma Mia (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
Have this hooked up to my Bose radio and it is on all day. Love going around the world musically (from home in Atlanta to Australia, etc. with one click -- WOW.) Amazed that the world's music typically originated from the US. TSF - Jazz from Paris is OUTSTANDING. Where did they get the library of recordings -- it is a history lesson of JAZZ. Staff Picks are a good place to begin selecting your list of favorites. Also, listen to C-Span without turning on the TV. Can't imaging my day without it.
Did need the help of the family's "techno Geek" to get it installed. Manual not for the "techno-deficient"
Everything as advertised and more! October 19, 2008 This is my second Squeezebox, the first being the excellent Duet. I am very happy with the quality and performance of both units. You just can't get a better product in this price range. I am running SqueezeCenter 7.2 on my Windows Home Server (HP-EX475)for local music, and have a Rhapsody subscription for listening through Squeeze Network. For a music enthusiast, it just doesn't get better than this.
Great product! Easy to set up! RECOMMENDED! October 12, 2008 I wanted something I could use to listen to my extensive mp3 music collection, but I found a Media Center PC or similar to be too much trouble. Enter the Squeezebox. This device made listening to music hosted on a computer in another part of the house a breeze, the audio quality is as good as the mp3 file that's playing, and setup and use is EASY!
I am hosting the SqueezeCenter server software on a Windows Server 2008 machine, and the only problem I've found is that I must start the service manually each time I reboot. (Luckily this is only once every 3 months or so.)
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with a large mp3 collection and a wireless network. The price is a little excessive, but after months of use I've forgotten about the money and can't stop thinking about how much I love this product.
