Expensive Junk! October 28, 2008 This is the most I have paid for trash in a long time! Everyone else has covered my points. The U bolts are, indeed, too short for the mast that came in the box, and yes, a mast did come in the box! What country is this thing and the instructions built in? It is on its way back for a full refund! I should be able to bill for my assembly time too.
Phillips outdoor antenna-Don't buy it! October 20, 2008 Philips Sdv7400K/17 20-Element Outdoor Antenna This is quite possibly the worst product I have ever purchased. The best thing to do with the instruction manual is to burn it before you unpack the antenna and then try and put it together with your eyes blindfolded. It would be easier that way than to rely on the manual. The antenna is very cheap and I wasted several days putting this sucker up in my attic. How could anybody ethically sell this piece of ____!
HORRIBLE!!! September 14, 2008 I have read the previous reviews and completely agree. Do NOT buy any Philips product. the equipment is junk, the parts are wrong, and the instructions are an absolute joke. stay away. lowes better take this thing back.
Song and Dance from Philips support August 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
What I sent to Phillips:
I assembled this antenna with little help form the terrible manual. The box included the Antenna and a wall mount kit which included a mast. The mast would not attach to the antenna. The antenna U bolts are too short. I called customer support. They kept telling me that the mast was not included with the antenna. This is true, but it is included with the wall mount kit, but they tried to keep on calling it a pole. When I pointed out that the mast was clearly labeled as a mast on the box, then they changed the story. They said, "Oh, but you have to have another mast that fits in "pole" and attaches to the antenna. This is not shown in the manual or in the wall mount kit instructions. In fact, your web site says the wall mount kit supports the antenna, and shows a picture of it attached.
My suspicion is that the engineers that designed this bought a lot of short U bolts and now you are doing this song and dance to stick it the people who bought the system of antenna and wall mount.
Please send me two longer U bolts. I don't need three. The center U bolt, which attaches directly to an antenna bar and not through the plastic mounts is long enough.
Terrible! Stay away!!! August 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This has to be the worst TV antenna I've ever used. Big, cumbersome and does not perform.
The instructions are also not explanatory at all and some of the included bolts and wing nuts don't even fit properly.
The balun included with it also was of extremely poor quality.
Don't waste your money on this piece of junk.
