Product Description Deep inside the dangerous world of rescue operations, one anonymous hero pays no ransom, takes no prisoners, and breaks every rule. Meet Jonathan Grave. . .No names. No feds. No trace evidence. That's how Jonathan Grave operates. As a freelance specialist in covert rescues, he has to work outside the law to get things done-especially in highly sensitive hostage situations. But when an Indiana college student is abducted, and Jonathan's meticulous plan explodes into a deadly shooting spree, the local authorities are out for blood-and they're not alone. Someone wants to control a devastating secret . . . someone rich and powerful . . . someone willing to capture, torture, and kill anyone to get it. Even the people Jonathan loves most. . . Praise for John Gilstrap and his thrillers. . . "Gilstrap hits the accelerator and never lets up."-Harlan Coben "A gut-grabbing, pure-adrenaline rush."-Jeffery Deaver "Gilstrap pushes every thriller button." -San Francisco Chronicle "Surprising and satisfying."-The Denver Post

great book but... September 5, 2010 Allene This was a great read. Fast paced and very interesting. I would have given it 5 stars but the editing was terrible. I counted 8 examples of misspellings, poor grammar and missing words. Mr. Gilstrap, choose your editors more carefully next time. It looked as if you were in a hurry to publish it without taking care.
A Johnny Messner vibe! September 4, 2010 OnlyRichard I won't go into the plot. There's lots that have done that. All I'll say is that this story is absolutely brilliant. The dialog is smooth, the descriptions are JUST enough to make you visualize it, without being too heavy-handed. The story grabbed me from page one. Jonathan Grave is such a well-written character, I'd love to know absolutely everything about his history. (I don't know if there are previous books on him. I just found this one and it sounded interesting, so this is my first!) He has such a Johnny Messner kind of vibe!
If you like kickass movies, with guns, explosions, and a good dose of revenge, I definitely think you should read this.
Non Stop Action August 31, 2010 Hugh R. F. Campbell (Charlotte, NC United States) A first time author for me and the book is excellent. I like a book with action, thrillers, suspense, romance and slightly edgy. The number of pages could be reduced and as with most books of this genre you park your IQ and just read for some great enjoyment. If you like Vince Flynn, some Brad Thor you will enjoy John Gilstrap.
Not usually a thriller fan, BUT.... August 30, 2010 Glenda G W North (Burke, VA United States) Gilstrap's "No Mercy" kept me up way too late on a Sunday night finishing it. I was most intrigued by all of the different people/groups who were trying to track down the hero, and how surprised he was by their success. The plots wove in and out so neatly that I never had a chance to notice the typos that other reviewers mentioned. (And errors of that nature usually jump right out at me) The power of the story pulled me through this book like a water-skier being towed by a speedboat.
Awesome book August 26, 2010 Janet L Goodfellow I don't normally review books, however I felt the need for this one. It is truly one of the greatest books I have read in recent times, and I could not put it down...
