Product Description THE CONSERVATIVE S POLITICAL BIBLE. Let s say you re listening to a loony liberal, debating some dopey Democrat, or arguing with a gaggle of goofy lefties. Wouldn t it be great to have the facts to combat all those liberals lies? Well, here it is: finally, the book that sets the record straight! Radio host and author Gregg Jackson has written THE authoritative answer book for conservatives concerning our nations key concerns: Abortions, terrorism, the Patriot Act, separation of church and state, immigration, the environment, homosexual marriage, taxes, deficits, school vouchers, gun control, health care, social security, education, media bias, and President Bush s real record of achievements. What makes Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies so important is that it gives conservatives, right-leaning independents, and even disaffected Democrats the truth they need to counter common liberal claims. Issue by issue, the book offers clear and concise conservative responses and comebacks. Stolen Book September 24, 2008 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
There is a new book out called The Conservative's Handbook which is a revised version of a 2003 book by a Nashville author named Phil Valentine. Someone posted that this book was ripping off Conservative Comebacks because the structure was the same and many of the chapter names were the same. The review was called stolen book. Someone pointed out that The Conservative's Handbook was a revised version of the 2003 book (apparently then called Right from the Heart) and if you check out the table of contents, you'll see that the structure and chapter names were in place in 2003 - well before Comebacks was published. So, is this book idea and structure stolen from Valentine?
Great, Except... August 8, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm a gay Republican, and while this book is fantastic on most levels, I cannot bring myself to make more than a half-hearted endorsement of the book because of the author's clear anti-gay bias. While only a couple of points are rebutted -- well -- in some of the chapters, a full sixteen points are "rebutted" about homosexuality, including the utterly ridiculous notion that it's a "lifestyle choice". If Gregg Jackson would get a clue on that issue, this would probably be one of my favorite books, but that particular chapter absolutely infuriates me.
Eye-opening August 1, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am a Republican, but I never realized ALL that the democrats have done to the individual and our country. This book was spellbinding. I was up almost all night reading it. And I will still go back to it to read again and again.
Exceptional tool when you just can't put your finger on it. August 1, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Exceptional! This book is in the top left hand drawer of my desk at all times. After reading it, I kept it around to use as a great reference guide. Nearly everything your misinformed, left leaning friends might throw at you regarding politics is covered i.e. economics, the war, presidential policies and behavior, seriously, just about anything you can think of. It's an invaluable asset if you like to verbally joust with your liberal buddies. Who knows, you might even be able to bring them around to the right way of thinking! This book pulls no punches and absolutely gets right to the point. You have the choice of quick answers if you just want to pop and go, but following those "quick answers" are in depth, well thought out, factually based explanations. Do yourself a favor and buy it today!
Good Book for People Who Like Half-Truths and False Analogies July 29, 2008 8 out of 20 found this review helpful
Though I admit I am a liberal, I still like to read and listen to writers and commentators on both sides of the political spectrum. And because I get my information from a variety of sources from Limbaugh to Air America, I have very little respect for Gregg Jackson's "Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies". The book is little more than a repetition of conservative talking points, with misleading statistics and half-truths that conveniently omit vital information. Mr. Jackson has an obvious contempt for the intelligence of his readers, as evidenced by the numerous false analogies, "facts" about the Clinton Administration that are nothing more than pure conjecture, spin on religion and affirmative action, historical inaccuracies, and outright "whoppers" that would make Burger King proud. Overall, a good book for right wingers who want to reconfirm their preconceptions.
