Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Designed for students in grades six to nine, this curriculum offers more than 30 innovative class sessions that address diversity (racial, ethnic, and sexual) and violence issues. Each session contains a warm-up exercise, theme information, value clarification, and an experience or activity. Journal writing, critical thinking about history textbooks, role-playing, storytelling, poetry/rap, photographs, illustrations, tables, and whole-school research projects are just some of the tools presented in this hands-on guide to defending against violence in middle school.

4 out of 5 stars A great collection   July 10, 2008

Teachers often want to find a way to include more music into the classroom, but finding ways to do this is difficult, especially since few schools have a classroom music curriculum. This book and it's first volume companion feature a variety of games that are easy to drop into the curriculum. The games are for different age and size groups, and there is an index that puts the games into different age groups. The suggestions are clear, the purposes of the games are clear, and the instructions are good. You might only use five or six games out of this book, but they will be worth it!
