I still want more.. October 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Finally we get some answers in this book. The shadows Rebecca has been chasing with her newly official crew comes to light with the help of her Rookie detective Dell and her official informant Sandy. But Rebecca also has to worry about what Sloan may or may not due when they find who is resposible for hurting Michael. The ending came quick in this book and for me it still left me with some unanswered questions. Like what happens to Rebecca after her promotion and recent run in with some bullets? Will Dell and Sandy be able to stay together even with their differences? Will Sloan be able to forgive herself for Michael? And who really is the inside leak to organized crime? We may or may not get those answers but the journey so far with this series was great, thanks Radclyffe.

What can you say about a Radclyffe book that hasn't already been said. She is truely a master of her genre. Keep on writing.
A suspense-filled read! July 30, 2006 A human life is valuable beyond reason. And Detective Lieutenant Rebecca Frye's team is determined to remind someone of just that fact. A team, which is a force to be reckoned with as they proved in their previous case, a team that has now become the High Profile Crimes Unit.
A team consisting of some of the most unlikely of people - computer expert JT Sloan, first introduced in Radclyffe's A Matter of Trust, determined to find the assailant who almost cost her the life of her lover Michael, a woman she loves above all else; Dellon Mitchell, a rookie police officer who's courage earned her her detective's shield; "Jazmine" Jason's alter ego who played a pivotal role for the team and Dr. Catherine Rawlings, Rebecca's lover, who is determined that the "job" will not claim her lover.
When a lead in their latest case points them towards the world of Drag Kings and Queens, Jazmine's identity becomes invaluable and Dellon Mitchell becomes `Mitch'. A fact that Dell's lover Sandy isn't sure she likes. One of her reasons becomes a huge question in everyone's mind...exactly how far undercover will Jazmine and Mitch be required to go? Danger becomes very real in this world. A fact Mitch and Jazmine need to remember because if they don't, it could get them killed.
An unexpected break comes from a most unusual source. It seems the police department now wants to hire JT to oversee development of their electronic surveilance unit of all things. She soon discovers that more than one source is using their computers to find information. Who? JT races to discover their identity and stop them before irrevocable harm is caused. Before the next victim becomes one of her teammates.
And if things weren't already stressful enough, a tenuous relationship may be placed in jeopardy when a woman from Dell's past suddenly makes an appearance. A woman who slams Dell's `old life' back in her face. The aftermath of which the whole team is not sure they'll survive.
Radclyffe is a master of drama and suspense having proved that fact in her previous works now totalling over 20. In Justice Served, her fourth book in the "justice" series, her characters, all strong women who's lives and stories began in A Matter of Trust and Shield of Justice, then merged together in the sequels In Pursuit of Justice, and Justice in the Shadows embroil the reader in a non-stop, action-packed, drama-filled suspense ridden story. And make the reader believe there are champions out there for us all.
5 stars for Justice's #5 July 28, 2006 Rebecca and Catherine's Justice series carries on with their relationship and breaking down the little pieces still keeping Catherine at bay.
Dell is recovering from injuries in #4 and is being pampered by her new partner (Sandy). Oh, but nobody's going to miss out on the action in this book.
They are again joined by the cast of characters from another of Radclyffe's series (Michael & Sloan and Jason (Jasmin) and Sarah).
Don't miss this one!
