 an excellent supplemental workook August 5, 2008
This is a great summer workbook to keep kids fresh on their math skills or to introduce concepts for the upcoming year so they are familiar with what to expect. I don't have a problem with the arrangement/order of the topics. For my son, taking a break from word problems (which can be a struggle) to do time/clock or geometry problems is great because it boosts his confidence and enthusiasm. There is lots of practice, and each topic spirals back with higher-level concepts while strengthening the foundation--for example, adding one-digit numbers, then two-digit numbers, and then three- and two-digit numbers. Again, this is a good supplemental resource for enhancing your child's math skills.
Good prep for second grade math May 28, 2008
I purchased this book for summer practice prior to second grade for my children. This introduced concepts that they later had in school. It is comprehensive. I will purchase the third grade book for practice this year.

Good practices, BUT pages are not pencil-friendly (meaning you can't see the writing, but just an indent). Therefore, my child has had to write everything in pen, which isn't a good thing when you're "practicing".

We have used the Math Made Easy: First Grade Workbook and are very satisfied with all that is presented. I will use the entire Math Made Easy workbooks for homeschooling.

This workbook would be perfect and complete simply by adding a paragraph of how to explain the exercises.
