Good test to take; nothing surprisingly new if you read Rita's PMP Exam Prep book December 20, 2008 The aspect that I found good about this book was that is contains one test comparable to what you get on the PMP exam, in one place, mixed up and not sorted on topics, so that you can take it, time yourself and simulate an exam situation.
I did find certain questions repeated from the PMP Exam Prep book and that was disappointing. If you read Rita's PMP Exam Prep book, and already did the exercises from that book, you will also find repeated themes and styles for certain questions that reflects her take on things, so you'll just know the answers because of that, not because you are made to think about a situation and use your PMP knowledge.
I found annoying the small, pocket format of the book. I wish it was a larger format or a spiral bound so that it could easily be kept open. Because of the small format, it is very hard to keep it open and easily use it in a real testing situation when you have to write answers down, do some writing at times on separate scratch paper. I am guessing the intent was to allow people to easily carry this book around and flip through questions over and over so that they eventually get used to them and the answers... that should just not be the way one prepared for the exam in my view, by memorizing questions and the "right" answers to them. I used the book once.
Convenient for quick study November 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pocket question booklet is easy to use anywhere, anytime. I found the questions to be good to study from, as another form or study drill in addition to others I was using. I like the size convenience because I could review during my workouts on the eliptical and treadmill.
This book is an example of Project Management Failure November 1, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have two copies and both are defective. Pages 158, 159, 162, 163, 165, and 166 are blank, leaving me to wonder about the answers to questions 150-151, 158-163, and 169-174. There was no quality control in this book project. I guess the WBS really did Break Down!!!!
very good example test questions and answers October 29, 2008 This booklet was a very good sample test for the PMP Certification Exam. Answers are explained so that you can comprehend the reasoning.
Passed the exam - this book is very helpful! April 7, 2008 I got this book after I read study guides to practice. First I got only 50% right and then after Rita's explanations and more studying I got them 80% right. The questions on the exam were easier than in Rita's so if you understand the logic behind her answers it is very helpful.
