Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
A tender story of hope and joy, of sacrifice and forgiveness, this novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nicholas Sparks is a moving reminder that love is possible at any age, and at any time-and often comes when we least expect it. Adrienne Willis is forty-five and has been divorced for three years, abandoned by her husband for a younger woman. In hopes of a respite she goes to the coastal village of Rodanthe in North Carolina's Outer Banks to a local inn for a weekend. With a major storm brewing, the time away doesn't look promising...until a guest named Paul Flanner arrives. What begins between Adrienne and Paul over the weekend will resonate throughout the rest of their lives, intertwining past and future, love and loss.

2 out of 5 stars Cheesy and highly predictable   November 29, 2008
I have to say the beginning of this book gave me a big warning that the writing was going to be very elementary and to top it all of a sappy love story. I like love stories which is why I picked this book up, but the writing was horrible! I can't believe this is a best selling author. I remember a few year back I read the notebook and a walk to remember and I at least liked those. I was disappointed and I wish he would have done a better job selling the reader this story.

5 out of 5 stars An outstanding audio acquisition   November 14, 2008

Nicholas Sparks' NIGHTS IN RODANTHE receives JoBeth Williams' fine narrative style as it provides a novel of heartache and new love. After her husband abandons her for a younger woman, Adrienne flees to the small coastal town of Rodanthe in North Carolina to tend a friend's inn there to find a major storm and a mid-aged man change her life. Their weekend together will make a big difference in this warm romance of love between very different people. An outstanding audio acquisition.

5 out of 5 stars Truly Heartwarming   November 8, 2008
I am not a person who tends to enjoy a "sappy love story" novel but I fell in love with this book after reading only about 3 pages! I couldn't put it down! It shows the true strength of love between 2 characters despite their distance apart and hardships faced in life. Truly is heartwarming... makes you laugh, cry, and just want to run to the one you love and give them a hug at the end!

4 out of 5 stars excellent book   November 6, 2008
I found the book to be very well written. Had I not seen the movie first, I would definately have gone to see asap. The book had me in tears when they had their mother and daughter talk about lost love.

3 out of 5 stars Predictable but enjoyable   November 4, 2008
Nicholas Sparks is a reliable writer, always delving up heart-warming and gut-wrenching moments. Nights in Rodanthe was predictable but nonetheless entertaining. Read this if you want a good romance.
