My favorite Doris Day movie August 23, 2008 I purchased the DVD because my granddaughter saw it on TV and thoroughly enjoyed it and continually asked when it would be shown again. Doris Day is at her funiest in this movie and her singing is classic Doris Day. My granddaughter continually apologized for laughing so hard. The whole family can enjoy this movie.
Doris Day_Glass Bottom Boat August 18, 2008 Doris Day and such greats like Arthur Godfrey, Dom Deluise really made this a clean, fun to watch comedy. Some of the movie is comedy schtick but we certainly miss that in today's movies which lack creativity all together. Considering this movie is from the early 1960's, the video techniques were clever and you did not need to see Doris Day (as a mermaid) nude in the water to understand the rest of that shot. I am so glad that Glass Bottom Boat is on DVD !
A Family Favorite That Also Spoofs '60s Spy Films July 29, 2008 This movie is able to be a sweet Doris Day comedy while adding the sarcastic humor of Paul Lynde to become a spoof of '60s spy films. It's a nice mixture of what would have been pretty adult material with family fun. The supporting cast is filled with comedians at the top of their game. And though Rod Taylor is an acquired taste as a Day leading man, he seems to fit his hard-nosed scientist role. Most fun is seeing Arthur Godfrey in a great film debut. Yes, he sings and Doris sings (Que Sera Sera again!). But it all moves quickly and has enough action that it keeps the whole family's attention.
Great Doris Day July 12, 2008 I love Doris Day movies and this is one of the best. It is so funny.
The Glass Bottom Boat March 31, 2008 The Glass Bottom Boat The Doris Day/Rod Taylor team is like cheese and chalk but they make a lovely film together. This film is filled with action and makes you want to watch it over and over again. All the stars who played in it are perfect as well. As a story it is packed with all the ingredients that one needs for entertainment.
I recommend this DVD to all those who loves to laugh.
I must compliment Amazon for the prompt and properly packed delivery. Thank you.
