4 out of 5 stars Loved the Book - Loved the Movie More   November 21, 2008
I wasn't much of a Superman fan, but I loved Christopher Reeve in this role. Shy and backward ex-felon falls in love with rural farm woman who has her hands full during the great Depression. The town thinks she's a tad off mentally, the sheriff is just waiting to haul the new farm hand back to jail and then enters the town slut into all theirs lives.
I loved the book, but even better seeing the characters of the book on the screen. Some nudity and sex. One of my favorite "girl" flicks.

3 out of 5 stars Would not watch this movie again.   November 17, 2008
This movie contained an uncomfortable sex scene, which would have been nice to know in the rating.

A little known good movie to add to any collection. One that can be watch a few times a year and never get old. You feel for each character and their individual emotions and it sends you on a roller coaster of sadness, hardship, gossip, and true love that grows throughout the movie.

3 out of 5 stars Read the book first or instead   March 20, 2008

The movie was good. However, it was based on one of my favorite books of all time, Morning Glory by Lavyrle Spencer and the plot was changed very considerably! I can't judge the movie on its own merits due to that fact.

4 out of 5 stars Love Story   March 14, 2008

I enjoyed the movie though it was a typical ex-con gets framed story. The acting is well done and it was nice to see Christopher Reeve walking and healthy. Takes place when times were hard and people did what they could to survive. Ends well.
