Wow! August 5, 2006 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Rhonda hit a home run with this CD. Her choice of songs and her delivery are pure blue grass magic.
Not her best May 22, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Rhonda is good at this old timey country and I do like this, but it doesn't compare to "Written In The Stars" For me which was done on Giant records too. Could be the sound quality, got it on one of those FYE mix and burn, just doesn't have that great of sound quality.
No bluegrass - just brilliant traditional country September 5, 2002 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
Rhonda began as a bluegrass singer, but her lovely voice tempted record companies into thinking they could make her into a big mainstream country star. She recorded two country albums, Written in the stars and this one, but didn't achieve that stardom and subsequently returned to bluegrass.Alison Krauss lends her voice in support of Somebody, the opening track, while the duet with Randy Travis (It ain't nothing new) is brilliant, as is The blues ain't working on me (with Dolly Parton singing harmony). Not that Rhonda needs the support of such guests, as all the songs are outstanding. This album would surely have made Rhonda into a major star if traditional country had been fashionable when it was released, but it wasn't. However, it's quality is obvious as soon as you start playing. Any fan of traditional country, or of Rhonda, should give this a listen. It's magic !!!!
Rhonda IS "Trouble Free" November 30, 1999 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is her second "country" CD. (Rhonda Vincent is widely known for her Bluegrass background.) This CD is a 5-star. Rhonda is joined here with Dolly Parton singing "The Blues Ain't Working On Me"; Randy Travis "It Ain't Nothing New" & Alison Krauss " Somebody." Rhonda does a fabulous tune called "An Old Memory (Found It's Way Back Home Again"). This Album is a must have.
Outstanding CD June 27, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Rhonda Vincent is one of only a few remaining true country music singers. This CD is well worth the money. I have listened to it often and still love it.
