Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com essential recording
This 10-cut compilation is a worthy sampler of music from Reba McEntire's most vivid and inspired period as a recording artist--a Cliffs Notes-style excursion through the highlights of the singer's 1980s musical output. "How Blue" and "One Promise Too Late" are just two of the six No. 1 Billboard singles included here. --Bob Allen

5 out of 5 stars Great straight country   July 11, 2007
In giving this a 5, I am analyzing from the perspective of country music unadorned by any flirtation with pop or rock. This first greatest hits of Reba, covering her stuff up to 1990, is definitely country singing. And singign is what it is. Loud, complicated instrumentaion is not featured. The songs and basic, being based on the singing and lyrics. The songs engage in very straightforward storytelling, accomanied by good rhythm. This stuff started Reba toward superstardom.

Reba McEntire has really good hits. I like her voice it sounds so cool, I wish I could sound like her. These songs are the best. Amazon.com is a great place to order from.

5 out of 5 stars A LITTLE MORE COUNTRY AND LESS POP!   November 7, 2005

That's what Reba used to be and it suited me just fine. This is a fine sampling of Reba at her finest. THERE ARE many people who like her this way just fine. She disappointed many, many fans when she quit doing music like this. This is a pleasant reminder when she was a little more country and less pop.

5 out of 5 stars THIS IS THE ONLY REBA CD THAT I LIKE!!   November 4, 2005

Given the fact that I have only heard two of her CDs, this one and the god-awful "If You See Him" I rate this one 5 stars. If the albums of which these songs came off of are half as good as this CD then Reba was certainly the country queen of the eighties. I enjoy this CD very much.

If you're not familiar with Reba McEntire this CD would be the best place to begin. It is the best of her greatest hits releases.
