After the sort of year that Kenny Chesney has experienced--from a whirlwind courtship through a short-lived marriage--a guy needs some time to chill. Thus it's no surprise that The Road and the Radio finds the party-hearty country hunk in an uncommonly introspective mood. The soul-searching title track establishes the album's intimacy and theme of taking stock, sustained through the bittersweet balladry of "Who You'd Be Today," "In a Small Town," "Freedom," and "Like Me." Though Chesney only wrote one track here, "Beer in Mexico," he invests the rest with personal conviction. Even the comparatively hard-rocking "Living in Fast Forward" has a reflective twist to it, while the Caribbean lilt of "Tequila Loves Me" has more than a measure of melancholy. Whatever the effects of romantic travails on his personal life, his music has gained some emotional depth. --Don McLeese

5 out of 5 stars Kenny Chesney- Road & Radio   May 30, 2008
What a great CD! I just have it play over and over in the car. My favorite song is #7- Beer in Mexico- but they are all good. This is a nice collection of songs that you hear being played now on the radio even though the cd is a from a couple of years ago. The teen agers in the family like it, too. Good value!

2 out of 5 stars Okay cd...   April 20, 2008
This cd is good, but certainly not one of my favorites of Kenny's. I could have done without owning this one.

5 out of 5 stars Superb!   January 15, 2008
Everytime Kenny puts an album out it reinforces my admiration for him. If you buy this album, it would be money well spent!

5 out of 5 stars Kenny Chesney The Road and the Radio CD   October 26, 2007
I love anything that Kenny Chesney does and this was no exception. Great songs to sing along with and enjoy. Also thought provoking songs. I especially like "Living in Fast Forward," since that seems to be how my life has gone recently until this song got me thinking that there's more to life and I needed to "rewind real slow," too. I bought copies for friends who also love nearly all the tracks. Good buy and good voice.

5 out of 5 stars Kenny is amazing!   September 28, 2007
I bought this CD for 'Who You'd Be Today' and I must admit I was pleasantly suprised that I enjoy the entire album! This was my first Chesney CD and now I have to back-track and buy all of his other albums too!
And another little fun fact: Kenny wrote 'Take Me There' on Rascal Flatt's new album 'Still Feels Good' - check it out; the Rascal Flatts are AMAZING! ;)
