Just what I wanted July 7, 2008 I was looking for some children's music that my toddler and I could sing along to. This is perfect. Not a sugary-sweet voice, but someone actually singing songs.

Lordy, how I detest the Disney machine. So much skill, so little taste.
Here's what I think you'd want in a collection of songs aimed at young and maybe not so young children: bland arrangements, erring on the peppy side; a friendly, enthusiastic singer who obviously enjoys the songs (think Burl Ives); children's favorites.
Here's what you get on disc 2 of Disney's collection: bland arrangements erring on the extra bland; a crooner with a voice like yogurt who is just putting in his day at the office; and, of course, from Disney, some corporate trash.
In this case, three "favorite" songs that the children have never heard before because they're new; and will never become favorites because they are dull, wordy and impossible for young children to sing.
You can just hear the ghost of Walt whispering in the ear of the producer (Jymn Mogan), "Throw in some extra crap, the parents will pay for it and the dumb clucks won't know any better."
Disney didn't tamper with the lyrics as much as I had expected, but what sort of idiot changes "am" to "is" is "Polly Wolly Doodle"?
Classic Forgotten Songs March 29, 2008 The first volume of this collection is better known. I'd listen to these on cassette, while on long medical trips, such a smart move MOM! Volume two has few songs I'm sure in my 25 plus year life I have never heard. I must credit Disney for keeping these songs in familiar territory, without changing melody, yet adding sound effects to make a child more likely to be interested in. Into days society the simple idea of having down time, with family, is becoming more, and more a rarity. While there will forever be some sort of music [being played], from records to tapes, cds, and now MP3 there should by family togetherness!
I like but my son does not March 2, 2008 I liked this CD very much and sang to the songs myself since a lot of them were ones that I enjoyed as a child. But my song preferd my other CDs which I listen to on a normal basis. I bought this and #1 for my car so we could enjoy it while we drove a long distance to my parents house but he didnt show any interest. Maybe over time he will learn to enjoy??
I remember these songs. March 1, 2008 I listened to those songs on the record that my sister had when I was little.
