Album Description
Tom Jones' career as the king of crooners has spanned over four decades. Like Sinatra, Elvis, or the Beatles, you can not define Tom by comparing him to anyone else, he is simply Tom Jones. So perhaps it is fitting that throughout his career he has always been drawn to the music of the Beatles, and his cover versions of the Fab Four have become classics in their own right.

3 out of 5 stars Incomplete -   August 10, 2008
I've got no problem with Tom Jones covering the Beatles - you pretty much know what kind of cover version to expect from the man -

But why include his cover of John Lennon's "Starting Over", and "Roll Over Beethoven", which technically isn't a Beatles song, and leave off his covers of "Hey Jude" and "All You Need Is Love", which were released as singles in the 1970's?

Especially when the album clocks in at just over 23 minutes - there was certainly room for more material!

I have just about everything Tom Jones has recorded but this set is embarrasing. Not only are the songs all live but they are from TJ's weakest period (early '80s) and most of them fade out before the songs end. At 23 total minutes, this is one of the worst titles I have ever purchased. His performances of some these songs in the '60s were red hot. The one's here couldn't light a match.
