5 out of 5 stars THE LAST CLASSIC BALLAD BY A BAND...   June 7, 2006
I remember the first time I heard "If You Love Me" on the radio back in 1999 riding from Jacksonville to Tallahassee for my wedding rehearsal. It was being played for the first time on the Walt "Baby" Love Countdown. Walt emphatically said, "The fellas from Minneapolis are back!". I cut my wife to be off mid-sentence because I had to hear it. I instantly had a smile from ear to ear because I knew it was going to be hit. The song had the classic Mint Condition instrumentation that fans of there music have grown accustom to but this time around with a orchestra bringing out all the nuances of the song. The songwriting by Keri "KL" Lewis is nothing short of spectacular and Stokley's vocals show an artist who has moved into a class by himself. When the song had ended I was in a state of aural bliss. The song later became the First Dance Song at our reception. The song is a MASTERPIECE. Enough said.

5 out of 5 stars Tight Jam   September 18, 2000
Mint COndition gives up a Great Slow-Jam.this Song Sounds Really Cool.I Like How at the End they Include a Bit of a classic O'Jays song when they say you got what i want i got what you want.very cleaver. It's Sad where have all the R&B Bands Gone??Mint Condition is Cool I Hope they stick Together? they are very talented Brothers.one of the very, very, very few good things about Modern R&B.

Comes through very Stokely. Powerful soulful; very much worth waiting for. Don't take so long on the next one........Much love and success

4 out of 5 stars Back and Better Than Ever!   October 26, 1999

Boy, three years has seemed like an eternity without new music from R&B's last remaining "true band". Mint Condition appeared on Soul Train on October 16, 1999 to promote "Life's Aquarium", and they never looked or sounded better (they may have been lip synching, but who cares?)

"If you Love Me", reminds me of why I can listen to this groups' albums over and over again, and always hear something new or different in them. If you Mint Condition guys ever log on to Amazon.com please, come to L.A. to promote "Life's Aquarium".

The only reason this single got 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wanted to hear more of Stokley's soulful sound. I've already ordered my CD from Amazon and I can't wait until it drops in November.

5 out of 5 stars Great Song!   October 21, 1999

If this song is an indication of how the c.d. will be, then bring it on! It is so refreshing to hear great soul music from a real band, playing real instruments. In this age of weak, trite lyrics from so called r&b singers (how many times are we gonna here "I'm gonna lick you up and down" I wish there were more groups like Mint Condition. Give them a listen.
