5 out of 5 stars Finally at long last!   July 4, 2005
Like the other reviewers, I too got off on this brother's tune, "enough is enough". It was played occasionally on the local FM R&B station here in NYC, but the artist's name was not always given. Finally, one day, the DJ announced the artist as, "Dennis Taylor"! Well like the sister in the other review, I set out on a quest to find this album, and would you believe it, it was no where to be had. Talk about disappointed...well one day as I was passing a small shop in lower Manhattan, I heard the cut coming over the speakers outside the shop, so of course, I had to go in. When I asked to see the cd, the owner could only direct me to an R&B mix cd with other artists such as Donnell Jones (This Love), Lucy Pearl (Dance tonight), Rashaan Patterson (Get to where you are), and Next(Wifey), just to give you a sense of how long ago this was. Of course I purchased it, because, I couldn't find it anywhere else...And I played that same track over and over and over and over again...
So, today, July 4th, 2005, in memory of Luther, I am going through my cds (I can proudly say that I have 13 Luther cds) and I come across this old mix cd, which I only played to hear this one song, Enough is Enough, by Dennis Taylor...and I put it on and play the song over and over and over again, until finally, I decide to look it up on Amazon...and here it is...IMPORT ONLY?! What is up with that?...anyway, I am gonna spring for a used copy ($19.99)...If my other reviewers' tastes are as good as my own, I am sure I won't be disappointed...No one will ever be able to compare with Luther, but Dennis Taylor might end up being a wonderful addition to the R&B scene in his own right. I hope to hear more music from this brother in the future.

5 out of 5 stars BEGINNING TO END..THE BEST R&B CD IN AT LEAST A DECADE   March 24, 2005

Back around 2000 there existed the ultimate SOUL radio station and it was on the internet. It was called SOUL 24-7. It originated in England and they were on the cusp of everything in SOUL. They played cuts from this cd and I thought it was fabulous but I couldn't get it in the states. For some reason Dennis is from the USA but I had to get an import.

WAS I WOWWED WHEN I HEARD THE WHOLE CD!!!! FABULOUS!! WHAT A VOICE, WHAT WRITING , WHAT A CD!!!

'Should I' should have been a number ONE hit here in the USA as well as many others.

IF YOU LOVE TRUE SOUL JUST BUY THIS CD!!!!

THIS IS AMONG MY TOP 5 FAVORITE CDs OF ALL TIME!

5 out of 5 stars Rare Funk and Soul   June 17, 2002

I first heard his song on Digital cable. The music pulled me out of my closet! Then Dennis started singing and I was hooked!! The grooves take you back to old school R&B, along with funky jazz. If you like Sade, Maxwell, Sweetback as well as Maze, 52nd Street and bands such as Brick, The Dazz Band and Midnite Star, Dennis Taylor deserves a space in your CD collection.

5 out of 5 stars Confortable Groove   March 14, 2001
His first single cut "enough is enough" uses (intentionally?) well-known Donell Jones' "U know what's up" melody as a base backtrack. This is very nice match with his silky voice.

Other tracks are very good too. This is my best R&B album in 2000.

Have a listen and I'm sure many music lovers will support his masterpiece!

PS. He released this album from UK record label Domerecord but actually he is American, in NY. Hope he should be well-treated in music biz in USA very near future...He is really good vocalist.
