5 out of 5 stars Red Alert (US Version)   November 4, 2003
One of the best songs Basement Jaxx has made! Although, don't get it confused with the UK version, both songs are totally different. Used in various commercials (food, drinks, clothing) and more, Red Alert is a classic by Basement Jaxx. If you want anoter good Jaxx song, check out: Do Your Thing

I'm a classical musician. Quite often, with the world around me, I fall out of touch; In efforts to keep up, I try to keep on top of the music it puts out. Music is, afterall, my language, and furthermore, it's the most accurate and compelling form of communicative expression of and amongst ourselves to whatever may be called the human spirit.

I don't remember exactly how I first came into contact with Basement Jaxx, but, however it was, it was a god send, an absolute blessing.

From the beginning YoYoYo's of the radio edit of Red Alert, I was instantly addicted.

It is Basement Jaxx which keeps alive my hope for any future in this world's music, but not only this, the fact that they exist RIGHT NOW and are making such music, it makes living a very wonderful thing!

If you want really great music, the kind for which the world's musically-educated elite will forever be ashamed to admit their love for the simple reason that it is not classical, it doesn't involve any intensive studies, it puts to waste their years of training and experience, it's just there right in front of you waiting to be enjoyed, the kind that infects your very existence and haunts you day and night, you will have to seek no further than tracks 2 and 3 of this maxi-single.

If I were forced to choose a cds worth of music and would never thereafter again be able to listen to any other music, surely, without doubt, I would devote the first 15 minutes which are the first three tracks of this disc...

4 out of 5 stars the return of disco?   December 4, 1999

every time i hear this song it always gets me hyped up and makes me want to dance and my friend always calls it 90's disco. the only fault is the music video because isn't it kind of stupid to watch cops arrest people for playing music?
