Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com
Alternately goofy and poignant, An Evening with the Dixie Chicks is like getting together with your friends after a hectic day at work: merry diversions, too much personal information spilling like beer, and a slow, soulful authenticity descending as the evening wears on. While the Chicks' predominantly late-20s, female crowd basks in kinship with the band's prolific patter about recent divorces and pregnancies, they are also sweetly appreciative of such shimmering, dreamy material as "Believe in Love," the self-mocking sting of "White Trash Wedding," and the extra pinch of gravitas that makes its way into a live version of Stevie Nicks's "Landslide." The Chicks expertly, almost invisibly, steer their show's mood with remarkable songs ("Top of the World") and country hokum ("Travelin' Soldier"), but it's the punky sneer of their kill-the-batterer satire "Goodbye Earl" that stands out, gaining another edge of reckless fun amid the Chicks' constituency. --Tom Keogh

5 out of 5 stars PERFECT HARMONY   August 12, 2008
One of the most enjoyable concerts ever. The Chicks-as usual-are near-perfect vocally and musically as they take us through all the songs from the (then) new album "Home" plus 4 older tracks.
Impossible to pick out highlights as all 16 songs are sensational in their own way.
Some entertaining chat from Natalie,Emily and Marti. Also a nice touch as Natalie introduces the band individually.
Audience participation creates a great atmosphere.
This production is so good it's almost unbelieveable.

4 out of 5 stars Love it!!!   May 20, 2008
This DVD is so much fun. I had rented it a few months back and knew that it was one that I had to add to my collection. A must for all Dixie Chicks fans!

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!   March 9, 2008
If this DVD doesn't turn you into a dedicated fan for life, nothing will. I enjoyed the Dixie Chicks before I received this DVD, but after seeing this show, I completely fell in love with their music. All three of the Chicks are supremely talented and this show really shows off all of their skills - their singing, their playing and their personalities.

This DVD is a must have for ALL fans of music, not just country music. The music is timeless.

5 out of 5 stars An Honest Review   December 24, 2007
This is a great concert!!! The set, the songs. Wonderful If you read a bad review for this concert, my opinion is that it was written out of spite for political reasons.

5 out of 5 stars About as good as it gets   September 29, 2007

Exceptional DVD and I am not even a country music fan. I have watched this DVD many times over the years and consider it one of the top five contemporary music DVDs. Production values are superb, though I am not crazy about the grainy film footage that was for some reason interjected intermitently. Overall, though, the video and audio quality on this DVD rivals the Bluenote-produced Norah Jones DVD which is the best that I have seen.
