AUSTRALIA'S ALL TIME TOP SELLING FEMALE VOCALIST 8 NUMBER ONE AUSTRALIAN SINGLES & 3.5 MILLON IN SCANS WORLDWIDE At twenty-two Delta Goodrem has already achieved success way beyond her years. Having released two CD's - Innocent Eyes (2003) and Mistaken Identity (2004) which spawned a quick succession of hit singles on the Australian and international charts (most notably topping the charts in the UK and Japan) Delta is now poised to match her international success in the US with the release of Delta. Delta is a collection of twelve 'songs' - in the truest sense of the word - dealing with life, love, and relationships, reflecting both her own life and those of the people around her. The music on Delta was made with the assistance of a world-class collection of producers that include John Shanks (Kelly Clarkson), Marius DeVries (Madonna, U2) and Steve Kipner's team (Christina Aguilera, Natasha Bedingfield) and noticeably showcases Delta's own work as a talented songwriter and performer. Delta is very proud of this new album and feels it's a great representation of where and who she is at the moment, "Everything in front of me is super-exciting, and I'm just looking forward to people hearing my music."

4 out of 5 stars Great Voice, Solid US Debut   September 7, 2008
Delta Goodrem has established herself as a premier pop star in her native Australia with several albums and a number of singles that have climbed the international charts. Her voice is sparkling and vibrant, and she balances innocence and sensuality so often lacking in today's offerings. At times, she is wholly contemporary; at other times, reminiscent of the best of the land down under. She compares favorably to another Aussie -- Olivia Newton John -- a comparison that is most favorable.

Three songs on the album stand out:

"In This Life": In my opinion, this is the strongest on the album. The song showcases the power of her voice and a depth of emotion that belie her young age. The harmonies are clean and crisp, and the instrumentation distinctive.

"I Can't Break It": A strong ballad, featuring Delta's angelic voice and simple piano. The lyrics are compelling and complement her style nicely.

"Angels in the Room": A fitting final selection, "Angels" is again a simple, yet poignant song that reveals a sensitivity within her soul and a kindness that transcends the power of the music.

The remaining tracks are good, but suffer from too much electronic instrumentation. Perhaps that is a matter of personal taste. I am likely not the demographic for her material. However, compared to most pop albums, it is to my taste, a solid offering and one that stands up to repeat listening.

4 out of 5 stars Clear, crystalline voice   September 5, 2008
I was most taken by Delta's beautiful, clear tones as she sang. I Can't Break It To My Heart is a good track and One Day has some fun funk to it as well. This is a 'light' album which my husband likes to listen to at work ~ he tell me sevral co-workers hav borrowed it. Yes, it is Pop music, but this girl can actually sing. We look forward to hearing her in the future with some better song writing.

4 out of 5 stars Very touching music   August 31, 2008

I bought this for my 14 y/o step-daughter as a surprise, She liked a couple of songs but I liked them all. Delta is a true winner with a lovely voice. Listen to her music then find the path her life has taken her. That really brings her songs to life!

4 out of 5 stars Pleasant but doesn't really stand out   August 28, 2008

After listening to this Album on an off for over a month, I still like the singer and the songs. However, none of the songs particulary stand out, and I'm hard pressed to remember the tune once the song is over.

I was partial to "God Laughs" and "Brave Face" the most.

Her voice is very pleasant as are the songs which are the light pop type. Her songs could also be considered light country pop as well. But I'm not sure if her American debut has been going well, as I have not heard any singles released on the radio yet.

3 out of 5 stars Generic Pop - not bad - not great   August 23, 2008

I had never listened to Delta before receiving this CD. I got it kind of on a whim and have to admit that it's not really my style. Overall the songs and style aren't bad. It's just kind of typical pop - I don't see anything amazing here - nothing sticks out after listening to the album.

Delta has a nice voice, I get the feeling there could be so much more. There's just not anything here that makes me go "WOW"

Sorry to say - it's not what I personally like.
