Deep and invigorating February 17, 2008 Many know Tricky through Massive Attack and while i have much love for Massive Attack I am a huge fan of Tricky and his music.
This CD is easily the best effort yet, Costanza flows perfectly with her deeply intoxicating lyrics that mesh with the dark background 'rap' of Tricky.
Best songs: Car Crash, dark ballad of a woman in a car crash. The Love Cats, perfectly meshed slow and sensual.
Very moody and deep, this album is another chapter in a very interesting career.
refreshing August 23, 2007 Vulnerable has some pretty cool songs, Antimatter being my favorite and a reason why I bought the CD.. a little weird, but refreshing!
Still Thirsty March 31, 2006 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good CD to catch a buzz and zone out to when you're in a bad mood - of course all Tricky's CD's are like that, but i felt the previous release, BLOWBACK, grew old with continued listens - 'Vulnerable' however, gets better with each listen - 'Wait for God' is an extremely wicked song w/ a tight beat, crunchy riffs and dark overtones: "I wait for god, but its very hard. I drink your blood but i'm still thirsty.." Tricky's creative hunger is never satiated and he will always be pushing the boundaries of mood, music and sound. A true artist
Beautiful sinister soundtrack for your dark days. February 1, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's the ultimate anti-party cd with Tricky's new discovery Constanza purring out lines about dying in a car crash and waiting for God while Tricky himself is a menacing background singer on most of the tracks. It's a great mixture of sweetness and darkness and the lyrics from the songs embed themselves in your mind from "Don't wanna stay another day with you, don't wanna lay with you" to "I'm needy,I'm greedy.." to "Where I'm from there's something wrong I don't belong." Some songs have a bouncy energy and some are just plain haunting(Car Crash) but they all add up to a perfect soundtrack for a tortured soul.
Great CD!!!!!!!!!!!! March 19, 2005 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the most listenable of the tricky cds i think its more mainstream some of the songs are inspirational.
Stay is the best song but they are all good
