4 out of 5 stars Another great Guitar album by the master   August 30, 2008
If you like Satriani, you have to add this one to your collection. Up to his usual standards, yet slightly different styles to expand his repetoire. Joe trys to keep it fresh.

5 out of 5 stars Satriani at his best, as always...   August 15, 2008

I don't agree with the "expert" reviews posted. I almost didn't buy the album because of them, but then decided I cannot possibly go wrong. If you like Satriani's fluid sound you will not be disappointed. The more I listen to it the more I love it - I like all songs, not just 1-4, or the last two. Satriani at his best. But, heh, I'm not an expert...

3 out of 5 stars Professor Satch Not As Good As Super Colossal   August 8, 2008
Being a fan of Joe since "Surfing" I was looking forward to some new tunes. But this disc is disappointing. While there are 5 great songs: Musterion, Overdrive (perhaps the best of all), Out of the Sunshine, Asik Vaysel and Andalusia. The balance of the disc (5 more songs) are average at best. With Professor Satchafunkilus being the worst track.... dischordent !

3 out of 5 stars Still solid, but losing his touch.   August 6, 2008
Like most of the rest of you, I am a devoted Satriani fan, and have idolized the ground he walks on ever since I saw him in concert back in 1989 and had the honor of meeting him. I just bought this album a couple of days ago, and for the most part I am disappointed. It is a so-so album. I was pleasantly surprised by Super Colossal and I still listen to it often. His solos were sharp and the songs were very catchy. I'm in a band, and I base my ratings of an album by the likelihood of me playing a song during a gig. Other than the last two songs, and maybe Overdriver, nothing grabs me like his older material does. It seems like most of the album sans Asik Veysel and Andalusia were old "B" sides. I Just Wanna Rock is Crowd Chant all over again except it is cheesy. I did like the solo, but the remaining parts of the song were not good. I hate to be critical of the man who has kept me absolutely captivated over the past 20 years, but this is not his best work. Maybe Father Time is catching up to him. I hope he puts some new wrinkles into his next album.

2 out of 5 stars Same thing again   August 5, 2008
There are deffinatelly 2-3 good songs in there...
...but why do I always get the feeling that I listen to the same stuff for the past 15 years???
K, I am not expecting to get a "Flying In A Blue Dream" anymore, but...
Please Joe... make fewer and better albums!
