The real Mozart May 5, 2007
I am so excited about this album that even as a musical dilettante, with amateurish knowledge, I'd take a chance to say a couple of words.
For Luc Devos, this is just a keyboard music- Great!, while Kuijken takes over whenever it's a chance. So, we listen to real Mozart. It is elegant, expressive, fast, in a moment even explosive and the most importantly there are vigorous attacks to phrases, scales, little solos and repetitions, throughout. The only rivals that have been around with similar and stunning approach is a pair Schroeder/Immerseel. Everything else like dozens of Perlman, Szering on a market is just luck of taste or some "vibrato/romantic" playing that ruins not only music but the historical period that creates such genie like Mozart and his contemporaries. Don't miss to have this CD.
