Amazon.com essential recording "We wanted a tough album," producer Quincy Jones recalls in a bonus interview on this special edition of Bad. Though the 1987 blockbuster would appear to be Michael Jackson's most personal statement to date--9 of its 11 cuts were written solely by him--its appeal also rested more on craft than the idiosyncratic art of Thriller and Off the Wall. At the same time, most of Bad has aged well in spite of its digital brittleness and MIDI treatments of gems like Jimmy Smith's organ solo on the title track. While the third best of his first three Epic solo discs, Bad carries a lot of what people love about Jackson's music. This disc also benefits from two fine outtakes, the exciting, uptempo "Streetwalker" and the Carpenters homage "Fly Away." Either could easily have extended the record's run of hit singles. --Rickey Wright

A must have album July 11, 2010 Ben Nicholson (Landrake, Saltash, Cornwall, UK) What ever you think of Michael Jackson as a person, when ever you come to his music it's amazing and this album somes that up. Full of classics and brillilant and diffrent songs. You all probably know the top ones like Smooth Criminal (one of the nest songs ever), Bad and Dirty Diana. But one that stands out that probably dosn't get enough play time Liberian Girl. This is not far off a Greatest Hits, 8 songs are classics the other 3 are still good songs. A few nice extra's but the orginal songs of the album are main reason to get. A must have album.
Smooth, Bad,and Dangerous entertainer May 14, 2010 Regent Joubert The name Michael Jackson speaks for its-self and BAD is just one of many CD's that sold millions of copies. You will find many of the great songs of his career on this CD including of course Bad,Man in the mirror, smooth criminal, and more. Timeless music from the greatest entertainer of all time!
Dude Really Had A Voice May 11, 2010 MCGOODIE (Mesquite, TX United States) While his dancing was truly great and his live shows were nothing short of phenomenal...
I think folks forgot that he actually could SING! As he got older his voice actually
matured into an instrument that was smooth as silk.
I think we all need to actually stop and again take a real listen!
Michael's second best albulm in my opinion April 12, 2010 Jason Weber There are so many quality songs on this CD and although it doesn't offer a lot of songs, it does offer some of Michael's best pop songs to date. Bad is a brilliant song and offers a variety of pop talent from different artists including the great jazz organist Jimmy Smith. Aside from its main title, it offers other career top songs like Smooth Criminal, Dirty Diana, and The Way You Make me Feel. There are a few easy listening Michael songs on this albulm too like Man in the Mirror and Another Part of me. Overall for this cheap price, you are getting some of Michaels greatest songs and there are no songs on this albulm I would consider unworthy or boring. It is worth the 10 or so bucks and one of the smartest buys in music you will make. One thing is the interviews are kind of just filler material and are nice to listen to once, but get annoying having to skip them to get to the next song. There are also a few previously unreleased songs on this remastered CD like Streetwalker and Fly Away, so you are getting a better deal buying this than the original. Overall, you are getting one of Michael's best albulms for a very low price.
Michael Jackson's Trilogy March 23, 2010 John Narducci I am not a die-hard Michael "King of Pop" fan. However, when reviewing his short lived career. "Off the Wall", "Thriller", and "Bad" are a magnificant acheivment for any artist and the producer(Quincy Jones)to realize in the turbulent 80's music environment that produced much less of importance in this time period. Of course, I love U2, R.E.M., etc. but to ignore this music and cast it off because of personal differences to where Michael ended up is criminal. Love the music!
