5 out of 5 stars "This one brought me through the rain"   May 17, 2006
The inspiration this artist has given me through her music is extraordinary. I have had some difficult times in my life that were just far from getting resolved, and because of Mariah I have been inspired, and touched, and I know you can make it through the rain.
There is a lyric to this song that says "And should they tell you you'll never pull through. Don't hesitate, stand tall and say I can make it through the rain".

That really touched my heart, and inspired me. When I play this song to capture the moment even more it is turned up quite a bit.
The song is taken from her album Charmbracelet that tells a brief story of Mariah's life, the ups, and downs to fame, and being bi-racial.
There is also a song dedicated to her father Alfred Roy Carey who died before the completion of this album.
Truly unlike the non-tuned ears person who wrote a review of Good but "Never Too Far" is better. I'm sorry but the jury has reached a verdict, and you are wrong.

Get This!!!!

I love U Mariah

5 out of 5 stars Great, but extra!   October 25, 2005
Nice thing to have, but only if you collect every Mariah-item under the sun. The "live version" sounds cute and is exclusief on this cd (I think), but "remix" can be found on the cd-single of the same song.

5 out of 5 stars Maybe the best ballad from Mariah in years   November 7, 2003

"Through The Rain" is a powerful and inspirational song from Mariah Carey. It is the perfect comeback after everything Carey went through prior to the release of the Charmbracelet CD - Mariah proves on this song that she hasn't lost a thing when it comes to blowing up a ballad with her 8 octive rage - Although most people critize Mariah for her voice, she keeps it under control in this song, not running all over the place and I promise, there's no screaming on this one - This CD Single also includes Mariah's latest release "Bringin on the Heartbreak" a cover from Def Leppard's version - That song is also tastefully done -

5 out of 5 stars You Don't Have It Yet!   October 15, 2003

I think the title of my review says it all, but by now you should know that this single, that is extremely low-priced, contains 2 hit singles from the diva: THROUGH THE RAIN (in 2 versions) and BRINGIN' ON THE HEARTBREAK (in an excellent live version), which got some decent airplay last summer and is now climbing the dance charts with its impressive remixes.

Get your copy of this gem of a CD while you still can!

3 out of 5 stars Good but "Never Too Far" is better.   September 26, 2003

The fact that no one recognized ANY of the ballads or uptempo tunes from the "Glitter" soundtrack makes me angry. "Glitter" was a great album from her. When I heard "Through The Rain" I knew Mariah was back, but then I heard "Charmbracelet" and it was NOT filled with this type of material which was a dissapointment. After being criticized constantly for "overusing" her voice she finally doesn't but it sounds pretty bad. I think she needs to take a long break and come back in 2 or 3 years. She needs another catchy single like "Honey", "Fantasy" and "Dreamlover." She also needs to loose the rappers and put more ballads on her CD's. "Never Too Far" and "Reflections" were BY FAR MUCH BETTER BALLADS then the two here. It's a shame "Glitter"'s soundtrack didn't debut as well as "Charmbracelet" but even after her most recent CD came out, she was nowhere to be found. I mean come on "Boy I need You"? I thought this was supposed to be the new, mature Mariah. I'm sorry Mariah but I am just looking out for your success and I think there needs to be more ballads like "Never Too Far." How about releasing "I only wanted" or "You Got Me" (Without the raps) as a single?
