So How Does Sci-Fi Funk R&B Prog Sound To You?.. July 14, 2008 I really love to review those albums that I think fall into the "Greatest Album You've Never Heard" category...but this one I think really epitomizes that moniker. Imagine if you will...Hendrix does NOT die in 1970 but lives to continue his musical journey. Around 1976, he may have released an album that sounds remarkably like this one. This short lived band came together as an offshoot of musicians from Stomu Yamashta's Go Project. Only two albums were ever recorded by this band (the second with an altered line-up and a significantly less prog, more R&B sound), but wow, what albums. This one is clearly the superior though, with Michael Shrieve's drums leading the listener through a set of material that is equal parts Funkadelic, Hendrix, Isley Brothers, and something quite original. Highlights include the insistent funk rock of Comin' Through, the VERY Hendrixian Geni-Geni, and the slow psych Funkadelic groove of Newspapers.
Bottom Line: If you liked Electric Ladyland, and wondered what was coming next, check this album out. Largely unknown and altogether amazing.

Love this CD had it on a 8 track tape. I looked for this for years and found it on Amazon! Thank you Amazon!
A hidden treasure for progressive rock and funk fans! November 21, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very good song arrangements, well produced. Great guitar work! (Where Jimi would have taken it, as far as processed guitar sounds) Vocals similar to Sly. Very good keyboard work! (Went on to work with Peter Gabriel's first solo effort) The percussion is brilliant! Great Funk bass lines. Love this first effort from this brilliant band! Think Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone back from a celestial tour.

HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ALBUM TO SURFACE IN CD, SINCE MY CASSETTE TAPE DIED YEARS AGO......WORTH THE WAIT THO........BROUGHT BACK MANY GOOD MEMORIES......NOT A BAD TRACK ON THE ALBUM.....GREAT MUSIC........
One of the all time best LPs/CDs in my collection October 7, 2007 Why did I buy this album in the 70's? I don't know. Perhaps there was some hype or perhaps, being a California teen, I thought a band with a Santana drummer might be cool. Whatever the reason I bought it... this has become one of the best wearing albums of my life. Timeless, well produced and well played, the band is hot and the sound is precise. I now listen to the Lemon CD in my car at least once a year. Visitors, the second album is more commercial, but just as addictive. This is a great band for those who like popular music, but don't like format rock. Soulful roots and space age synthesizer exploration make this a cutting edge album from the 70's that still sound edgy today. I can't think of another band that I can say that about.
