Product Description BARENAKED LADIES have long been known for their dynamic live shows, and now they deliver it to you directly on AU NATURALE LIVE. This CD, which was previously only available on the bands site, is a recording of last year's tour stop in Denver on 8/2/04. You know em, you love em, and now you can bring them home with you today. It is just like being there again September 21, 2008 I was at the show that I purchased and the recording captures the energy and humor of the evening. Great versions of "Brian Wilson", "One Week" and "It's all been done" and many other BNL favorites.
can't go wrong with live BNL June 21, 2007 I have been a fan of BNL for over 13 years and am glad they came out with more live stuff. This cd gives you more of their live antics which is what alot of the concerts are about.
Maybe ya hadda be there.... March 1, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A great tour in the summer of '04 saw BNL teaming up with fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette as co-headliners for the Au Naturale Tour. Only downside to the show was that, whereas Alanis "opened", each act did an hour and a half, instead of BNL's usual 2+ hours. Nonetheless, there are numerous highlights: "War on Drugs" is exceptionally powerful done live; "Shopping", in which the boys do a complete choreographed dance number using shopping carts, and the singalong favorites "Brian Wilson" and "If I Had $1,000,000" are always a treat. The highlight in the show I saw in Detroit, saw BNL teaming with Alanis for "Call and Answer", and Alanis came out dressed as Stephen Page! It was just so funny. True there's not a lot new that separates this volume from their other live shows, but it is a rollicking good time from one of the best live bands around.
Barenaked Ladies, Bare Bones Production February 25, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This chronicle of Canadian faves Barenaked Ladies' summer of 2004 US tour is as laid back and humorous as you would expect a BNL CD to be, featuring all of the signature songs such as "One Week," "Pinch Me," "Brian Wilson," "If I Were Yoko Ono" and "The Apartment Song." Released on the BNL's own label, featuring the boys in their birthday suits on the cover and available at only Indie retailers in the US, this is an almost completely hidden gem to all but the most rabid BNL fans and a good introduction for the newcomer. However it loses a star for the production quality which often sounds like the appreciative crowd is at a great distance from the stage and lacks the vibrancy and "you are there" feel with which a great live album transports the listener.
Great album January 3, 2006 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This is a nice, casual album... as usual they don't take themselves too seriously and even leave some mess-ups in there. Great rendition of some of their classics... and even a cameo by Alanis Morissette!
