Amazon.com Penguins, real or computer-generated, are hot property in Hollywood. First came "March of the Penguins," then "Happy Feet," and now "Surf's Up." If it's gotten easy to confuse one penguin flick for another, though, mistaking their soundtracks is pretty much impossible, owing to the top-tier talent. Surf's Up, like Happy Feet before it, catapults kiddie soundtracks to a new level of cool by recruiting a never-before-heard track from an artist adults have been wanting to hear from for a while: Lauryn Hill. That song, "Lose Myself," is as mature and distinctive as Prince's contribution to Happy Feet, "Song of the Heart." But where Surf's Up outdoes itself is with the surrounding material; 311, Sugar Ray, Nine Black Alps, Ken Andrews, and Big Nose each hand in spiffy new tracks. Picking a favorite can be as difficult as differentiating one penguin from the next, so don't. Sit back, settle into the standbys threaded through the new stuff (the Romantics' "What I Like About You" is a good one), and enjoy the ride. --Tammy La Gorce

fantastic soundtrack November 10, 2008 It is not very often that you buy a soundtrack to listen to a specific song you really liked in the movie, only to find out that the song is not on the soundtrack at all. This soundtrack is great! It has every song that I love from the movie on this cd and a few extra songs that I did not know were in the movie. Highly recommend this soundtrack if you love a good surfing cd, some reggae, new age rock and even a 80's song by the Romantics in here, too.
19 and loving it April 24, 2008 I'm a 19 year old college student and I got everyone hooked on this CD.
Great compilation of music!!!
Fun CD April 14, 2008 Purchased this CD for my teenage son along with the DVD of the movie. He really digs this CD and the play list and artists. This is now a constant fixture in his car's CD player

This CD has some great, easy to listen to music. We play it over and over. The songs give me the same feeling I get when I'm lying on the beach; very relaxing.
Surf's up Music from the Motion Picture January 9, 2008 A nice Cd with most of the music from the movie, but there are some of the sound's that i miss, with other's the tune that is played in the Bone-yard's in the end of the movie
