Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
After conquering the rest of the world with chart-topping albums and sold-out tours, Finland's HIM (His Infernal Majesty) won over the States with its 2005 U.S. debut, the Top 20 charting Dark Light. Venus Doom, produced by Tim Palmer (The Cure, U2 and HIM's Dark Light), elevates the band's summer-of-love-gone-goth to even greater heights. Two years ago, HIM had 45,000 MySpace friends. Today it has 400,000 and growing. We are all doomed.

3 out of 5 stars NOT AS GOOD AS CLASSIC HIM   October 20, 2008
I DEFINATELY LOVE KISS OF DAWN. but this stuff is little compared to thier earlier stuff.

5 out of 5 stars Their Best Effort Yet.   August 3, 2008
This is HIM's best album ever simply because "Sleepwalking Past Hope" and "Cyanide Sun" are on it. The rest are good as well, especially "The Kiss Of Dawn" long version. If Mr. Valo could keep going in the progressive direction, he might end up a respectable artist in the long run. More mature, more guitar, less teeny bopper stuff... excellent.

2 out of 5 stars eh   June 15, 2008
i got it quickly but when it arrived the case was cracked as all hell. which was a bummer cause i was told that it was in good condition.

5 out of 5 stars must have for metal fans   June 8, 2008
Being a huge HIM fan for years, I was very excited when this alnum came out. I had been hearing all sorts of things the band was saying about changing their sound for this album, and going in a much heavier direction. The first time I listened to it, my eyes became very wide and a huge smile spread across my face. It's a very heavy album, but it's still 100% HIM. This is a great album for HIM fans and metal-heads alike. If you haven't heard HIM and love heavy music, this album is a great starting point to get into such an amazing band.

5 out of 5 stars Venus Doom (its personal)   May 3, 2008
venus doom is a must have for any HIM fan..if your not a HIM fan you will be after this..its brilliant..villes voice is as rich and decadent as the finest darkest chocolate . the band has grown up,linde comes out of his shell, miges bass is hard and powerfull..gas pounds the skins like never before and burtons keyboard is haunting..the lyrics are dark and melancholy but theres always the promise of hope..this is a fantastic band at what may be their best album to date...it definitly stands up to razorblade romance and if you like venus doom ..you must buy digital venus doom to see a live performance and a very interesting and beautifully done interview...Digital Versatile Doom: Live at the Orpheum Teathre
