To parents, they're the new Hanson. To kids who've been tuning into Radio Disney and flipping the pages of Tiger Beat, they're geniuses. Jonas Brothers, the sophomore effort from the close-knit, close-up ready trio of New Jersey boys, is a mercilessly catchy collection of short but sweet punk- and emo-flavored confections. "Goodnight and Goodbye" grabs hold with guitar-fueled urgency, "Still in Love" borrows from old-school acts like KISS to build a slighter, kid-friendlier brand of classic rock, and "Games" has a respectable go at ska without sacrificing much in the way of pure-pop accessibility. The whole disc follows suit--a couple of ballads slide in ("Hello Beautiful" is a pretty one), but the brothers don't do much to dispel the idea that for them, uptempo ditties are where it's at. Twelve-year-olds, take note: CDVU+, the new format pioneered by Disney, takes cuteness into account; because this disc is configured with bonus material, photos and posters of Nick, Kevin, and Joe are just clicks away. --Tammy La Gorce

4 out of 5 stars Jonas Brothers CD   October 11, 2008
Awesome CD! My daughter loves it & plays it over & over again. Great item & price.....didn't care much for the cardboard style cover but otherwise A+

5 out of 5 stars New Jersey's Bee Jays   September 22, 2008
I say "New Jersey's Bee Jays" because brothers Nicholas,Kevin and Joseph Jonas hail from New Jersey(I wish I knew exactly where, curiously because I'm a New Jersey native myself). This trio,I would say,is Hanson and the Bee Gees both in one. I always have been a Hanson and Bee Gees fan. As for the "Bee Jays",I once said that about the Jackson 5/Jacksons. A decade ago,Hanson was the biggest-selling artist in pop/rock music history and today the Jonases are in that place. Pre-teen and teenage girls went wild over Hanson and those now-20ish young women,I'm sure are fans of the Jonases as well. Needless to say,two decades ago,the King Of Pop Michael Jackson,a veteran of the Jackson 5/Jacksons,was the biggest-selling artist in pop/rock music. I recently heard some of the Jonases' recordings on the You Tube website and they're pretty awesome! I'm a 37-year-old male who has always loved rock music and the Jonases rock as do Hanson and the Bee Gees! This album,I'm sure was at least a Grammy-nominee.

3 out of 5 stars :-P    September 2, 2008
Someone please bring back 1999 and 2000 when the Backstreet Boys and Nsync reigned the pop charts and this squeaky mess of a band didn't. :-P

1 out of 5 stars This band is different! Honest! They're the next big thing! Buy it!!!   August 23, 2008

Which is more or less the line from the usual trend [...] sources. What I heard here is the standards of modern music being pushed further down into the ground and recieving another brutal beating. The Jonas Brothers suck, alright. But that's not the real issue. The issue is what are we going to do about the crappy record companies that market this UTTERLY DERIVATIVE effort which has as much difference from Hannah Montanna as Kylie Minogue varied from Jason Donavon back in those days? Ignorant teeny boppers and their dumb, brain addled soccer mom folks. I quite naively continue to believe that there's a point at which the stupidity is too blatant for people to accept.

4 out of 5 stars Jo Bros Make Fun and Upbeat Music   August 16, 2008
I have recently become a fan of this band. This album is a step up from their debut "It's About Time," with funkier, more complex songs. Hit songs "SOS," and "When you Look me in the Eyes," drive the album, while tracks such as "Goodnight and Goodbye," and "Hello Beautiful," trace te bands evolution from rock to soul. There is something for everyone on this album. The reason for four stars is that compared to their new album "A Little Bit Longer," "Jonas Brothers," falls short of the emotion portrayed in songs such as "A Little Bit Longer," "Sorry," and "Can't Have you." However, this album is better than most of their peers including Miley Cyrus. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
