Album Description
Candy is an australian independent feature film based on the critically acclaimed best-selling novel of the same name, written by luke davies. It is the powerful story of two lovers whose intersecting lives take them on a journey of lust, addiction and ultimately self-destruction. Candy and her boyfriend, dan, are caught in a raw relationship of intense love, but they are also both heroin users who repeatedly try to shake the habit. In the end they are no longer using, but their addiction has torn them apart. There is a sense that candy and dan's relationship would have endured had it not been inextricably bound to their addiction. Candy will be the first feature film for australia's foremost theatre director, neil armfield. The film stars heath ledger, geoffrey rush and somersault's abbie cornish. The soundtrack album features timeless songs by tim buckley, rodriguez, amon tobin, soul coughing and a stunning new track from concrete blonde's johnette napolitano, written and recorded specifically for the film.
