| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com essential recording Enya's 1988 recording Watermark achieved landmark success with her groundbreaking use of multi-tracking technology to fuse new age and Celtic themes and instrumentation. The meticulous production defines her sound and achieves continuity even while weaving together tender ballads, piano pieces, massively layered vocal harmonies, and symphonic synthesizer movements. Although Enya's pristine voice isn't especially strong, her lead vocals possess a vulnerability that reflects the lyrics' sense of personal searching. From the ubiquitous, frothy single "Orinoco Flow" (which was used to hawk Crystal Light on TV) to the hard, bold edge of "Cursum Perficio," Enya's style remains fresh and engaging today. --Richard Price

Easy listening July 2, 2008 Watermark
Just the kind of music I like, quiet and easy to listen to.
Part two of Enya's trifecta. June 12, 2008 WOW!!! What an amazing leap from The Celts to this masterpiece. Nothing really like the original. More mature, beautiful, haunting and extremely memorable. Not a weak track on the disc. It's kind of a toss up, which is better, this one or Shepard Moons? I'm going with Shepard. Another masterpiece from Enya. Highly recommended!!!
I love Enya March 28, 2008 This is one of my very favorite CDs. I've had it for years. I recently had to put my car in the shop and when I got it back, 5 of the 6 CDs in the changer were gone (er, STOLEN!), including this one. I had to immediately re-purchase it. I can't do without!
Excellent Enya February 4, 2008 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
First time i heard Enya was back in 1988 with the song Orinoco flow.I thought the song had a good sound, but it wasnt exactly my type of music. It wasnt untill 1997 when i heard the song Watermark i started appreciating her music.I had heard some songs such as Storms In Africa, which at one stage was played on an add.But it wasnt till 2002 when i got some Albums. This album has got such a unique sound. The music fits into certain moods, uplifting realy.I have heard it played on alot of TV shows.Every now and then i put it on,it can help you reflect on things, and is not a distraction if you are concentrating.
Beautiful. Original. Classic. September 26, 2007 The very definition of an excellent CD. I generally listen to classical music, but Watermark has always held a special place in my heart. Art at its finest.
