Album Description This limited edition deluxe version of E=MC2 contains the same CD as the regular version and also comes with special packaging, a foldout poster and a custom iPod skin. Performer and songwriter Mariah Carey has set April 15th as the in-store date for the most eagerly anticipated album of the year, E=MC. The 11th studio album of her career, E=MC is the follow-up to The Emancipation Of Mimi, Mariah's worldwide 10 million selling #1 album, which generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), 2 #1 singles and countless more industry honors during its 18-month stay on the charts. The first single from E=MC is "Touch My Body," written and produced by Mariah Carey, C. "Tricky" Stewart, and The-Dream, and blasting out worldwide on February 12th. The video for "Touch My Body" was directed by feature filmmaker Brett Ratner - Internet, cable and network premieres for the video will be announced in the weeks ahead. In addition to C. "Tricky" Stewart and The-Dream, other guest producers joining Mariah on E=MC will include Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Stargate, Will I Am, Bryan Michael Cox, Nate "Danjahandz" Hills and James Poyser.. E=MC is executive produced by Mariah Carey and Antonio "LA" Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group. The Emancipation Of Mimi, released April 12, 2005, was an industry phenomenon for the mega-platinum award-winning superstar - Soundscan's biggest-selling album of the year, bringing total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to more than 160 million worldwide, making her the most successful female recording artist in history. Mimi featured "We Belong Together" (winner of the Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song Grammys) and "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 48 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits.

Sing to me mariah June 14, 2008 Love this cd. I can see why she's #1. Keep on going Mariah!
One of Mariah's best albums ever! June 11, 2008 This may not be her best album vocally, and I assure you it is not, but as of soul, it's a terrific effort. The pop tracks have lyrics of a great depth, and they hardly ever bore you. My favorite track is Side Effects, a true invitation for women to cry out loud, and I'm sure they will, because like most of the successful tracks here, it invites you to feel something, to experience the vocals and the up/mid/slow tempo beat, and you do without a second thought. I recommend E=MC! It's gripping.

The best part of this album is the two free gifts that come with the album: a fold out poster and an iPod skin. There are a few songs I like in this album. Touch My Body, I Stay In Love, For the Record, and Bye Bye. But overall, it is just an average album to me since I am not too much into hip hop. It would be much better if Mariah would do more ballad songs like she did in the album Music Box, but I am still a huge MC fan no matter what so don't get me wrong!!!
MC to the second power is a double dose of entertainment pow! June 3, 2008 I got this as a gift and I am very glad I requested this CD because it rocks! Every song is awesome, the album is exceptionally well-written and amazingly produced. From the first high note of "Migrate" to the last chords of "I wish You Well", it's a lovefest for song after song and you just very feel privileged to be experiencing the genius of Mariah (and her collaborators) as they have brought you the best of what is original and current - just pure entertainment for the 21st century! When I first got the album, "Cruise Control" was my favorite (after "Touch My Body" of course, which was the amazing 18th #1!) because of its laid-back reggae vibe and Mariah's cute accent, but then I changed to "For The Record" (if I had to pick one, though I still think one favorite is too hard to choose), which is so wonderfully constructed and a joy to listen to, over and over. The lyrics and music are so perfectly co-ordinated with the song's title, I think it might be the most perfectly written song on the album, but that is not to say the other songs are lesser, it's just that this one manages to exceed the highest plane of existence! But it's a tug-of-war for my heart strings between "For the Record" and "Migrate" which is so hot, and then there's the sizzling "Side Effects" which I can't believe is a sad song, because I just want to sing/chant it over and over! I just love the rhymes and the music and YJ is very cool in it. Then there's "Last Kiss" which is very touching and real with a powerful hook, and "Love Story" which is calming and mellow and such a cool un-typical love story - I love to listen to it-wishing it could be my love story-unending! "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" is one of those 'throw-back' tunes that puts you in that old-school frame of mind, yet it possesses a refreshing energy and infectious rhythm that makes you feel like grooving to it for a long time. "I Stay In Love" is a beautiful ballad that I can't wait to get on the dance floor and groove to! "O.O.C." is another one for the dance floor, but a different kind of groove. I just get so O.O.C. when I hear it!! "Bye Bye" is a beautiful tribute and I love singing along to it, although it seems very personal. I love that MC includes all her "people" who just lost somebody. "I'm That Chick" is very hip and the beat is just pow(!) and the lyrics make you want to sing out loud, but I try to restrain myself! "I Wish You Well" is a sincere, appealing track that manages to preach a universally-relevant message without being preachy. Kudos to MC! Finally, last but certainly not least, "Thanx 4 Nothin'" (cute title!) is a lesson for all the lovelorn and nobody sings a lesson you actually want to hear but Mariah! 'Oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh oh...!' Mariah (Emancipated to the second power or not!) has always produced beautiful music, whether singing alone or in collaboration, or challenging the cookie-cutter genre stereotypes, and her albums continue to be a testament to her absolute brilliance as an artist. There is no doubt she deserves to have more #1s than any artist alive when you listen to this, her latest and possibly her greatest album of all time! When I think about what will be her next number one, it's hard to pick out which it will be - all the songs on this album have the potential to be a number one hit!
