Product Description Success hasn t changed Plies; it has just made him more real. After selling over a half million copies of his 2007 debut album, THE REAL TESTAMENT, the rapper hailing from the streets of Fort Myers, Florida returns with the release of his sophomore set, DEFINITION OF REAL. I feel like what I try to stand for in this game and what I reflect and represent is the extinct individuality in terms of being real, explains Plies. It was only right for me to embody my sophomore album with the whole definition of what I like to call real. It s a term that I looked up and I dissected and I feel like it fits me as a person; better than any term I ever ran across. Led by a pair of powerful singles, Plies has created an unstoppable movement with Bust It Baby, Part 1 and Bust It Baby, Part 2. The two-part ode to the women who have supported the rapper s career goes beyond mere radio records. Instead, Plies has an unprecedented marketing campaign that is sure to keep him at the forefront of hip-hop. The first installment of the series is a southern-cooked dedication to the rapper s faithful female fan base, while the second part is a largerthan- life tribute featuring production from JR Rotem and an infectious hook by R&B superstar Ne-Yo. If 2007 s Shawty was a pop-hit with a ghetto twist, then Bust It Baby, Part 2 is that to the tenth power. Still, don t expect too many features on the album, as Plies pledges to give his fans exactly what they pay for. There ain t no other rappers on my album, that s important for me. I don t believe in having seven or eight features on an album - to me that s a compilation album. So, much like Plies debut album, DEFINITION OF REAL only boasts R&B features. I think I m alright when it comes to talking about certain issues, so I don t really need the support of n****s to help me fulfill that vision. I never try to be defined by how many records I sell. I think it s more important for my mark to be made on what I stand for, says Plies.

PLIES AND HIS FLIES AS FAN CAUSE THIS IS SH** July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Algernod Washington "Plies" age 32 and a Miami University attendee who speaks Mr. Rodgers-like English when not kayfabing (stick to character) and no known criminal activity according to Florida Police records sure did not fool me into buying this garbage. If he wanna be an actor he should of hooked-up with the Late "Joker" off of Dark Knight to appear more convincing. If you have an I.Q. mayonnaise would be jealous of then by all means indulge yourself in this would-be rap. Too bad this Generation has no Superstar talent like the '80's babies rosters and all generations previous. My Generation would have dusted these faggots early son. Ya'll got played cause the media fed ya dog ish for entertainment. No Pac, no Cube, no EPMD, no Rakim, no Wu-Tang this is what ya'll get to look back on...OMG LOL!! I heard it straight bebe food, one

New Generation Of Hip Hop July 16, 2008 Alright being a true hip hop fan that I am. I give everything some what of a chance before i start bashing them. Don't get it twisted you won't find in my cd collection shawty lo,young joc, gucci mane, dfl, and so on and so on. Majority of my people I chill with do listen to that sound of hip hop so sometimes i have no reason but to hear that garbage lol. I borrowed plies giving him a fighters chance but i should of just thrown in the towel. Plies is a strange individual. I heard this man in countless interviews n hes probably one of the most intelligent rappers when it comes to public speaking. It threw me for a loop lol. The thick southern accent disappears, big vocabulary its crazy. When he hopes on a track...well yall know lol. Definition of Real is exactly what i expected basically another garbage album that infest the music market of hip hop. Ive read a few reviews n a lot of you out there im seeing saying"the lyrics on here are great". You cant be serious? Plies vocab is comparable to a retarded gorilla lol. Certain joints like "ol lady" n "feel like f******" are a perfect example. Usually the fans of certain rappers of this caliber are wanna be thugs in high school,16 to 24 year old women who shake their a** up in the club, n most important the goons lerking the streets lol. This is what passes for hip hop now of days are....If you are real n really lived that goon lifestyle and you can rap like doo doo you have a pass. Sorry not with me; I love hip hop to death of me I am hip hop. Im not the one that complains about hip hop is not the same(even tho I strongly agree with nas)I don't listen to the radio hardly even glance at bet anymore. I just simply listen to the artist i admire n keep it moving. I dont blame majority of these rappers out. Thats what the mainstream want so give the people what they want. With that being said...surprisingly theres a couple stand out tracks on this album. "Somebody" great beat absolutely love that song. Patti LaBelle sample cant go wrong with that. "Who Hotter Than Me" i hear in the club n my people cars cant help to grown on you. But if you are in that criteria I mention early this is you're kind of album I highly recommend you cop it immediately. If you are a hip hop head leave this cd alone.
Outstanding CD July 12, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This CD is the best cd that I have heard in a long time. Plies keeps it real and I think that this should be CD of the year. My favorite is Bust It part 2 fea Neyo and Somebody loves You. Keep up the good work.
