Smooth Up in Ya, Indeed September 29, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It is often said that Bullet Boys are a one-hit-wonder band, but so what!
Jimmy Buffett has managed to make a very lucrative living off of "Margharitaville," and the BulletBoys could learn a thing or two from him about image marketing, but sadly, people want aging white guys doing the Caribbean beach bum shtick, and not aging white hair band guys losing their hair. Such is life.
That said, this is one solid album: Every track rocks, and if you still got hair, twirl it round and round to these nasty cuts! BulletBoys were, along with Damn Yankees, one of the very last hair bands, but they had chops as musicians.
I'd stack "Smooth Up in Ya" against "Margharitaville" ANY day of the week!
Great 1st CD band May 20, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great songs from them, but avoid their other stuff. They changed up their sound. This CD follows your 80's hair band look. REPEAT-Avoid their later stuff.

This Is Real Rock N Roll January 3, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
The Bulletboys were billed as "Van Halen Wannabes" but these guys could rock. Songs like Hard As A Rock and Smooth Up In Ya are 80s hair metal staples. Every song is great, especially my favorite Shoot The Preacher Down. If you like Ratt or the Dangerous Toys you'll enjoy this rock n roll masterpiece. Singer, Marq Torien, screams and wails like no other. The guitarist, Mick Sweda, the bass player, Lonnie Vincent, and drummer, Jimmy D'Anda, are all at the top of their game. They would not release another album like this again. If you like this album, I also recommend their 2nd album, Freakshow.
