Album Description Gary Moore is acknowledged as one of the finest guitarists that the British Isles has ever produced. In a career that dates back to the sixties, Moore has graced the line-ups of several notable rock bands including Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II and Skid Row, to name but three, and to this day maintains a highly successful solo career. With his latest studio album "Bad For You Baby", Gary continues with the sequence of blues rock albums that he began on Eagle Records with "Old, New, Ballads, Blues" and continued on "Close As You Get". Mixing original tunes with Blues classics that Gary has rediscovered, "Bad For You Baby" reaffirms Moore's exceptional talent as a guitarist and his deep insight into and feel for the Blues as a living musical form.

"Bad For You Baby" is great. Anyone that enjoys "Blues" and that "crying guitar" sound will love this album.
OK BUT... November 16, 2008 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
..for me not the real Gary Moore. For me the Gary Moore of the 80's was virtually untouchable. The man played with a fire and conviction like no other and his guitar chops were out of this world. Killer tone and peerless playing. THAT Gary Moore is easily one of my favorite top 3 guitar players. I didn't mind much when he started concentrating full time on blues releases because his playing has always been blues-based, just like so many other rock greats. I love Still Got The Blues and After Hours but I kind of got tired of Gary in that format and longed for him to return to his hard rock ways.
To the total disappointment of many that will never happen. Gary has turned his back on those days and appears to be quite dismissive of that work. Doesn't say much about the fans who supported him back then. I used to buy just about anything Gary put out back then and eagerly awaited a new release but those days are gone for me. Gary is still a kickass player but something is missing for me. I'm sure there are others who feel like I do and others who don't. To each is own.
Listening to the samples I can tell this is a decent CD but I'm gonna have to pass. I think I've run my course with THIS Gary Moore. I choose to remember the Gary from back in the day when he was ripping and slashing on the guitar and leaving others in the dust. The man was absolutely fierce! [...]
RICK ""SHAQ" GOLDSTEIN SAYS: "DON'T "FRET" IT'S *MOORE* BLUES!" November 16, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This CD showcases the full multi-dimensional talents of Gary Moore. Some artists have smooth silky voices... other artists have gruff-growling voices ideal for bearing your soul through the blues. Some guitar players bend the strings heavily... while others make their guitar sound like an orchestral instrument... Gary demonstrates his ability to provide all this and more to his audience all on this single release. With songs ranging from the title song "BAD FOR YOU BABY" which is a foot-stomping tune that presents images of an "amp'd-up" electrified Elvis... to "DOWN THE LINE" which can almost conjure up a similar image of Johnny Cash... to "MOJO BOOGIE" which is an absolute roadhouse- blues-boogie blast that would make ZZ Top envious. Mix in some guitar licks that are reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King... and you know this CD is GOLD!
If you have ever been able to describe the sound of a lonely-soulful-crying-wailing-sax... well believe it or not on one song..."I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU'LL EVER KNOW"... Gary makes his guitar cry like a wailing sax... and the listener is additionally blessed by the fact that this song is TEN-MINUTES-AND-THIRTY-FOUR-SECONDS LONG. Along with your listening pleasure... you get your moneys worth as this CD has eleven songs with a playing time of fifty-five-minutes-and-thirty-three seconds.
Gary is back November 14, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've been a Gary Moore fan since his early rock days and was pleasantly surprised when he went back to his roots with "Still Got The Blues". He's since had a few more blues projects but this one rivals "Still Got The Blues". His playing has the feelings that the blues are all about. He's back in a big way with this new project.
