| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Comedy hip-hop generally takes the low route, doing either physical humor (cf. The Fat Boys) or a litany of cheap-shots and potty-talk (cf. 2 Live Crew). Insane Clown Posse does both. But they're also side-splittingly funny for a couple listens--and pretty good with the beats and samples besides. The concept's like this: These two white guys have a vision of global unity that has something to do with dressing as clowns and spraying soda all over everything. They're, like, dead or something, so they have supernatural powers, and each album they put out represents a card in this eternal trump hand that'll call God back to earth when it's all collected together. If you can think of anything funnier on the spot, go get a record deal. --Gavin McNett

ICP are legends! November 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is true rap! Nas? That guy sucks. Same with that overrated guy Tupac. He faked his death so he could get more album sales, anyway. ICP are the best rap group ever! Why? Because they have an extremely loyal fanbase! The fanbase can't be wrong. The Juggalos are never wrong. ICP have phat beats and funny but frightening lyrics. I say you listen to this if you want a taste of what rap should sound like!
Great CD for ICP Fans October 5, 2008 Insane Clown Posse- Great Milenko Great Milenko has to be one of my favorite Insane Clown Posse CDs. The band of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope can be very hit and miss; this album is a hit though. The songs diversify fairly well along the ride. You can have fast paced songs angry at abusive husbands like "Hall of Illusions." You can also get a slow song about life like "How Many Times." I personally prefer the faster songs, but the others are nice. My favorite song on this album would have to be "Piggy Pie."
Most Insane Clown Posse fans already own this. If you are a fan of their work and do not own this, check out Great Milenko as soon as you can. If you are new to the Juggalo (what their fans call themselves) nation, proceed into this album with caution. It is not for everyone. There is excessive swearing and nonsensical lyrics. The CD is made for a fun day though, not for those looking for music with deep meaning.
Legendary August 12, 2008 First of all I am a Juggalo, Second of all do not listen to the haters. ICP is REAL rap, they just use differant lyrics and beats for their music. There is also more to ICP than just funny lyrics and rapping about killing people, behind those lyrics is a message, if you figure it out chances are you will end up becomming a Juggalo, if not then you will just like them. I also read the one guy's comment about how ICP and juggalos "think" they are hard. This man is brainwashed, mainstream rappers only talk about how hard they are, ICP does not rap about how hard they are. Since he was too used to listening to mainstream and does not have an open mind, he see's anything as somebody trying to be hard. ICP They are completely original and if you think "they are gay" and do not give them a chance then you are missing out on something that could change your life. Buy the CD and just listen to their lyrics, you wont be dissapointed as long as you have an open mind.
random review July 14, 2008 this album is pretty good. it has gone platnum so it tells you that juggalos are standing tall and proud. if you want to get a joker card i suggest this one. I LOVE ALL THE JOKER CARDS
ICP - "The Great Milenko" (5 stars) July 3, 2008 The Insane Clown Posse returns with their 4th LP entitled "The Great Milenko". And it is truly a horrorcore rap classic. This album is their first album to really experiment with rock and metal. Although this album is 100% rap, there is some interesting guitar licks in some of the songs, provided by rock legends Slash and Steve Jones. Even Psychopathic Records rapper/guitarist Legs Diamond laid down some guitar here. This is also the first release for ICP and for Psychopathic Records on their one time distributor Island Records.
As far as the lyrics, Violent J's "twisted storytelling rap" gets better and better with every release, darker as well. He tells stories like no other rapper out there today (yes, I'm completely aware of Slick Rick). He is extremely talented at what he does, and his stories never tend to get old. Shaggy 2 Dope goes well as J's sidekick, like I said in many other ICP reviews, Shaggy doesn't tell stories as much, but his hilarious sex rap rarely disappoints me. But on here, his rap style does get more versatile. He leans toward his rarely shown horrorcore style here. Sure, he still spits the freaky sex songs, but he gets deeper with his emotions here (listen to "Pass Me By"). The lyrics here get an A-.
The production stands out as well, Mike E. Clark delivers his hard-hitting, bass-filled beats, once again. The beats here sound like something you would hear from ICP's 3rd LP "Riddle Box", but unlike that album, they have a few beats with electric guitar on the hook, which proves that Mike never likes to do the same thing twice. The beats here are more sinister and less funky than found on "Riddle Box" as well. The production gets an A+.
Here's my individual track-by-track ratings.
01. "Intro (ft. Alice Cooper)" (N/A) 02. "Great Milenko" (N/A) 03. "Hokus Pokus" (A+) 04. "Piggy Pie (ft. Steve Jones)" (B+) 05. "How Many Times?" (A+) 06. "Southwest Voodoo" (A+) 07. "Halls Of Illusions (ft. Slash)" (A+) 08. "Under The Moon" (A+) 09. "What Is A Juggalo?" (A) 10. "House Of Horrors" (A+) 11. "Boogie Woogie Wu" (A+) 12. "The Neden Game" (B) 13. "Hellalujah" (B-) 14. "Down With The Clown" (A+) (favorite) 15. "Just Like That" (B-) (least favorite) 16. "Pass Me By" (A+)
I recommend this strongly to Juggalos and horrorcore rap fans. For the horrorcore rap fans, this is a timeless classic that will get nothing but praise from here on out. There is not a single "awful" cut on here. This is tied with "Riddle Box" for being their best album yet. Peace.
