Product Description
Goodbye, classroom! Hello, summer! But for Troy, Gabriella, Chad, and Taylor, this vacation is no day at the beach; they're all working at a country club founded by none other than Ryan and Sharpay's grandfather! And with the club's annual Midsummer Night's Musical right around the corner, Sharpay's competitive instincts are sizzling. If she can manage to win the Star Dazzle Award just one more time, the country club will name it after Sharpay, and it will be hers forever. But this year, Sharpay faces some tough competition-Gabriella! To have any hope of coming out on top, Sharpay knows that she'll need a secret weapon. She dumps Ryan and starts wooing Troy to be her new partner. Gabriella is less than thrilled that Troy has fallen under Sharpay's spell. How could he do that to her? Things are heating up on the lawns of high society. Will Troy and Gabriella realize that they're meant to be? Or is it already too late for them to sing one last song together?

4 out of 5 stars Summer Fun at Lava Springs   July 23, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Say it is the last day of school and your teacher is talking like you have school tomorrow and it is early that day. Then it is almost summer...dinggg the bell rings and you schools out.

Friends from school get a summer job at Lava Spring Country Club. But not Sharpay and Ryan, sister and brother who compete in the Broadway musical. They are members at Lava Spring County Club.

As the story goes on Troy 'a guy that plays basketball, sang and likes Gabriella a girl that sang and likes Troy too'. promises to sing with Sharpay and does not want to. Troy starts acting different .Then Gabriella leaves. Will Troy be able to start being himself again or will he be this way forever and will he sing with Sharpay.

I like the book because I like how the story is written. I can connect to this because it is summer now and Sharpay has a dog and so do I. High School Musical 2 teaches you to be yourself.

5 out of 5 stars bought this as a gift and it was a hit!   April 6, 2008
Along with the HSM cd I bought this book for my niece for her birthday. She enjoyed both gifts and I was pleased to see her so happy. There was a little mix up with the shipping, so she didn't get it before her birthday. Amazon was so nice about it that they upgraded the shipping to 2 day express. I will continue to order from Amazon.

1 out of 5 stars Highschool Musical   January 13, 2008

I know Disney made lots and lots of moolah by making these movies, but really, I don't get what's so great about it. There's one song too many and the plot isn't exactly great. The don't make Sharpay and Ryan seem horrible enough. Gabriella and Troy aren't any better than them. If highschool resembles that in any way, I bet I would have hated it.

5 out of 5 stars Entertaining Book   January 7, 2008
My 9 year old daughter read this book in two days. She absolutely LOVED IT!!! She loves the movies and the soundtraks. But she loved the book more!! Great item!

4 out of 5 stars A good book for kids that matches the movie. Typical of a junior novelization   November 2, 2007
This is the junior novelization to the movie High School Musical 2. Just so you know, a novelization is the book version to a film being put out or that has been put out. Usually they provide greater detail and differ slightly from the movie. A junior novelization is the scaled down kids version. There is nothing but the junior novelization for this film and High School Musical. Both are entertaining in their own way, not like regular novelizations, but pleasant enough. In all it seems like other junior novelizations I have read. Definitely something you could get a kid who is a fan of the movie, and like I said, there is one for the fist High School Musical as well.
