Singer/songwriter Juan Luis Guerra applies his tropical big band magic on Christian-themed tunes on this CD but the result is the same--infectious rhythms that induce dance fever. Guerra's strength has always been his seamless blend of the spicy salsa and carnivalesque merengue rhythms and layering the music with elaborate vocal and horn arrangements to produce irresistible melodies. Guerra penned all 12 songs here; thay all deal thematically with God and devotion. Highlights include "Eres," which blends blues sentiment and gospel fever. Crisp piano and powerful horns drive the title track and "Las Avispas," a tune about walking with renewed confidence. Acoustic guitars introduce "Tan Solo he Venido," a mellow song about willing to give it all up for the Lord. As a singer, Guerra in top shape, his vocals conveying the variety of emotions from pain and longing to hope and celebration. As a bandleader Guerra hasn't lost his edge. He is a musical genius who knows how to fuse complex arrangements with tuneful hooks. --Ramiro Burr

Good CD July 5, 2008
This is only the second or third Spanish music CD that I've purchased. However, I do like it.

I've been a fan of Juan Luis Guerra ever since I heard him at the Latin Grammys. He is an amazing artist and a humble and gracious human being. Hearing him sing to the glory of our Heavenly Father on his CD, Para Ti, has elevated him to the status of "my personal favorite artist". I can't get enough. Para Ti, and Llave de mi Corazon are the only CD's in my car, and I listen to them daily. What a way to lift your spirits!

This is one of the best I've hear so inspirational... Juan Luis is one of the best writers in the world coming from the same country the Dominican Republic, he's an inspiration and pride for all Latinos!! This CD gives you the energy to see the Lord through his music... Great all around!!

My first exposure to Juan Luis Guerra was when I bought the Latin Grammy winning album NI ES LO MISMO NI ES IGUAL. Great stuff! A friend told me then that Guerra is an evangelical Christian and was working on a Christian album. This is it. He wrote all the songs. The arrangements and back-up musicians are superb. And you come away with the impression that this is a person who loves God and communicates that relationship beautifully. His love songs on other albums are written to his wife. This album shows the depth of his love for God. Excellent.
