Marty Robbins... what a voice May 2, 2008 I bought this CD, and also another, to gather most of the older, and his later too, songs which caused me to become a Marty Robbins fan, per se'... I like the western trilogy songs like El Paso and Faleena, etc., but really enjoy the songs such as Honky Tonk Man and Some Memories, etc., as well... And who could forget Padre... Just another purchase I made to which I was very happy with... Thanks!
Essential Marty review March 29, 2008 The is the perfect CD for a new or old Marty Robbins fan. It has everything that we loved about his music on 1 CD!
The Great Marty Robbins October 29, 2007 The CD is great! It has a bunch of his old songs and some I did not have on previous CD's. His song about Felina which covers her life from birth to death is wonderful. Marty is still dynamite!
The Essential Marty Robbins September 14, 2007 Purchased this CD for a specific song, found more songs that I enjoy that I had not heard by this artist. Excellent 2 CD pack. Bought 2 of these 2 CD packs, one for me and one for a friend. My friend enjoys his collection also. We dance to this music of Marty and have a wonderful time. So glad this was availabe!

I truly believe that Marty Robbins was one of the most talented men ever to walk this good earth. His voice is a wondrous musical instrument that charms and thrills listeners with it's sensitivity and sincerity. That he wrote so much of his output is proof of his god given talent and the sheer variety and versatility he displays are quite astonishing. You can imagine Marty in the studio deliberately recording something entirely different from the previous release knowing that he would wow his wide fan base. There are all kinds of songs on this album sung by a man who loved to sing; you just have to listen to the voice and know this is so. There will NEVER be another like him.
