An oasis of calm amidst the turbo-fueled clubbing tornado that is Ibiza, Cafe Del Mar is the White Isle's original home of red-eye chill-out vibes and weepy sunset soundtracks. The series of compilations bearing the bar's name, meanwhile, have long patented that authentic sound of Balearic bliss (even claiming Madonna as a huge fan), and this seventh volume maintains the high standards. Founding DJ Jose Padilla may have long moved on, but his successor, DJ Bruno, is clearly well aware of the old adage about not fixing what ain't broke. There's the usual mix of names well known (Moby, Bedrock, Nightmares On Wax) and head-scratchingly obscure (Uko, Lux, Aromabar), but the sound of beautiful music for loved-up and lazy beach bums stays the same.  Addicting CD! It's in my office CD changer! May 10, 2008

My manager had a copy of this CD that we would play continuously at work. Finally, I did some research as to what the CD was and immediately bought myself a copy! She has since switched offices and I continue to play mine in the music shuffle to help get me through the work day! Clients like it too...I have had some people actually bobbing their head to the beats! Great variety of artists, some I never heard of before, but after listening and discovering these artists it made me want more of the Cafe Del Mar series! SOOOOO worth the CD if you are a music lover.

I have had this one for quite a few years now and it is still one of my favorites from the Cafe del mar series. It is an energetic easy listening mix, that facilitates work and surfing. Thumbs up!

I have had this CD for such a long time now, and it is still one of my favorite! Everyone who I let listen to it makes me burn them a copy! I would suggest that you like this kind of music in general and be willing to listen fully a few times and you will love it, too!
 the series did get abit tired... June 5, 2006
One of my favourite tracks ever from the series is the last track on Volumen Ocho, Plum Crazy by Celestial. And if you like that sound, then you'll love the albums from Hong Kong's Celestial. Check them out, they are titled:

it's a deeper dubbier sound that most of Cafe Del Mar, more real instruments, and more space...

The things I like about this CD are the same things one reviewer hates: the feminine vocals. The Moby track annoys me because the voice is electronic instead of natural, and I simply hate that. But everyone else seems to like it so don't pay attention to me. Other than that, this CD pretty much rocks, but it did take a few listens before I was competely into it. Tracks 2,5,7,and 10 are my personal faves. All in all, a great chillout CD!
