| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description Recorded in 1963, this is a picture of big-time SP railroading with favorite cuts of the San Joaquin Daylight, The Owl, and The Lark, freights climbing and descending Tehachapi Loop and more. Several of the cuts are obviously staged, making them all the better. One such cut features the Lark approaching the tunnels of Chatsworth, California with a beautiful P-5 air horn referred to in the record notes as a Swedish Chime. 43 years later, we happened to run into the son of the engineer, Fritz Iverson, who was running the Lark the night the recording was made. He remembered his dad getting train orders to whistle freely as a recording company was set up along the right-of-way. We are pleased to offer these fabulous sounds for all to enjoy once again. Digitally re-mastered stereo using Sonic-Seven technology that was ahead of its time then and now. Approx 45 minutes.

| Customer Reviews:
THE BEST RAILROAD CD SO FAR!!! August 25, 2008 Considering that these recordings were made in the 1950's & 60's with state of the art equipment for that time. The quality is timeless and portrays a classic period for Diesels and Trolleys. I love all of the tracks, from the ground pounding EMD "F" units on Tehachapi to the conversation on board a former Pacific Electric car on the last day of the Watts local, this CD is the BEST!!! So far.
