| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description 2008 reissue of the debut album from Main Source. It is widely thought of as a very influential album and it is notable for the debut of Hip Hop superstar Nas. It is also highly regarded thanks to the virtuoso production of frontman Large Professor, whose heavy, and original, use of sampling influenced Hip Hop producers for a good portion of the '90s. Nas makes his debut appearance on "Live at the Barbeque", which is also played in the background of "Genesis", the intro to his critically acclaimed album, Illmatic. Breaking Atoms is one of the most important records in the History of Hip Hop and also hard-to-find; it has been out of print in the United States since the demise of Wild Pitch Records in 1997.

Breaking More Than Atoms!!! September 1, 2008 This definately ranks high in the top Hip Hop albums of all time. All the cats that gew up with this '91 release, know what I'm talking about, but alot of Hip Hop youngsters now of days don't even know this album exists. It seems like most Mc's just hop on the mic to get a rep, and drop rough lyrics to make themselves look hard. I like the way this has a bouncy, loose, block party feel with smooth lyrics, but it doesn't come off soft, nor hard. It's stright up Hip Hip, how it SHOULD be done. Production wise, this blows 90% of ANY Hip Hop albums out of the water. Larg Pro's production is absolutely remarkable on this one.
I love this entire album, but my all time favorite tracks are; Snake Eyes Live At The Barbeque (this is Nas' first ever appearance on an album) Vamos A Repiar Large professor Just A Friendly Game Of Baseball (remix version) Just Hangin Out
Honestly, if you're a fan of ANY Hip Hip you absolutely NEED this in your collection. No Hip Hop collection is complete without Breaking Atoms.
A Classic! May 20, 2008 If you are a hip hop head you already realize this is gem. An essential for any collection.
Outstanding Album April 25, 2008 WOW! This album is absolutely amazing! The production is remarkable, the lyrics are fantastic; overall, an exceptional album, a must have.
Should be in every one's top ten February 15, 2008 There are so many reasons why I liked this but the main reason is the Large Professor who is in my top 10 rappers. I do own this on vinyl also and cd. The cover is what got me also as its one thats really differant. The Large Pro is still doing his thing and has instrumental albums out which you should get. He is still one of the best producers around. This is one album where I dont think there is a song on it I dont like. You do have to get a hold of the 12 inch remixs also to the songs esp Peace is not the word.
