Album Description * The 7 million selling classic album expanded to two discs * Includes previously unreleased demos, including a version of Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land" * Features a previously unreleased 79 minutes-plus Paris concert -- last show of the massive "August & Everything After" world tour * Booklet includes fold-out poster & extensive liner notes by Counting Crows' Adam Duritz
Album Description One of the most impressive and successful debut albums of all time, Counting Crows' 1993's August And Everything After spent a remarkable 93 weeks on the charts and is certified 7 times platinum. It also spawned the hits Mr. Jones (#5 Pop, #2 both Mainstream and Modern Rock), Round Here (#7 Modern Rock, #11 Mainstream Rock and Top 40 Pop), and Rain King (#4 Mainstream Rock) and a mammoth worldwide tour. Even before the album was released the group had filled in for Van Morrison at his induction to the Rock `n' Roll Hall Of Fame, and before the album charted, they played on Saturday Night Live. Such was the buzz for this band in '93 and '94, then came the explosion. This new Deluxe Edition, personally overseen in every aspect by the band, celebrates that monumental time with the first disc fleshed out with previously unreleased demos of the album's Omaha, Woody Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land, and expands the album even further with a series of demos of songs that didn't make the album. The second disc is a magical Paris concert which concluded their incredible 17 month tour, begun shortly after the recording of the album.

The extras are a nice addition... April 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
"August and Everything After" remains my all time favorite album. One of the very few I can listen to as a whole, song after song. Adam Duritz has an amazing poetic mind, and Anna Begins may be the most beautiful love song ever written. The sound quality of this version of the album is far superior to the original. The demos and live tracks are excellent. Buy this if you don't already own August! If you do, and you really are a fanatic, as I am, buy it anyway and love it.
soul warming March 19, 2008 This album warms my soul. I have heard every song the Counting Crows have published and this album, I think, is their best collection so far. I can't wait for their next creation.
August and Everything After January 18, 2008 Awesome CD. I bought this Cd when it was origanally released, I lost the copy and purchased it again. It WAS THAT GOOD!!!
I liked so much that I bought two of them January 2, 2008 What can I say? The B-side show is great and the songs were sung with so much enthusiasm that it's absorbing!!! Adam's words is even more delightful, 'cause he explains a little bit about the band formation and some problems they have along the time until the Paris show. One more thing: the bonus tracks after August original is also amazing... Thanks CC for one more pleasure hearing you!!!
August and Everything After - Deluxe Edition December 7, 2007 If you don't have the original (which is a classic by the way) or if you are such a hardcorp fan that you just have to have the three demo songs, and the half a dozen live versions, then this album should get a five star rating for you. But if you already have the original August and Everything After, this album probably only gets about three stars. You'll note that I gave it five stars, I actually had the original, but lost it years ago. So the whole album is a great value, and really an amazing CD, to me.
