5 out of 5 stars Excellent Single/Follow up To "Breeg" done tastefully on DVD   January 11, 2007

This is another excellent single from Iron Maiden's latest album "A Matter of Life and Death" This DVD itself includes the Video for "A diffent world" which is is a computer animated run through a futuristic planet with aliens and eddie. This is a shorter song on the album, and nice to hear after the longer ballad "Breeg" released as the first single. the second track is a live recording of "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg" set to a slide show of the 2006 tour. The Third Track "Hocus Pocus" is a classic maiden B side that is only featured here, set to artwork from the video to this single. Overall this is a nice littel 15 minute DVD at a reasonably low price. The DVD itself is picture etched on almost see through plastic, with a DVD artwork of track layout, and a fold out 14 x 8 or so Blow up of eddie on one side, 2007 on the other. Worth the investment of a Maiden Fan.

5 out of 5 stars Iron Maiden Makes It Right   December 27, 2006

For those who haven't seen it (you can watch it at IM's official site), this "Different World" high-tech, animated video is a new-world, espionage thriller in which an agent/hero-for-hire is attempting to steal some sort of world-destroying technology. He is chased by bad guys, nearly killed in a thousand different mechanical ways, and then Eddie shows up. I don't want to give it all away, so I'll stop there. The music is, of course, incomparable. Iron Maiden have lived up to the media hype of creating a "truly epic" cd. Although the Focus cover here is well done, it's one of the side-note, fun tunes that Maiden likes to do from time to time; the live version of "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg" is the heavy-hitter here and well worth the money for this single. Also, Maiden made it right for fans like me who bought the single with "Hallowed Be Thy Name" and "The Trooper" from the Radio 1 Legends Sessions. I felt slightly peeved when, a week later, a British version including all of the aforementioned as well as the video and "Breeg" was released. But Maiden has made it all alright. You can't buy the British cd/dvd for less than you'd pay for both the single and the dvd at this retailer, for instance. Even at full price. So, "Up the irons!" as they say, and enjoy.
