Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
One of the most influential bands in music, ranked eighth on the list of the biggest-selling groups in history, Metallica unveils its ninth studio album, Death Magnetic. The band's
first album in five years, Death Magnetic is also its first with renowned producer Rick Rubin (Danzig, Slayer, System Of A Down,
Slipknot), first with bassist Robert Trujillo, and first on Warner Bros. Heavy and thrashy, unafraid to embrace the band's past yet move
into the future.

Album Description
Japanese only SHM-CD (Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players) pressing. Universal. 2008.

5 out of 5 stars Back in the Saddle   October 14, 2008
It's really amazing how after they come out of the ashes of St.Anger and kick you in the face. Metallica really shows how they never have lost their fire, it was just waiting to be unleashed by the right person (Thanks Rick Rubin). As soon as the album starts you can feel the difference, the fire and ferocity of Metallica. In my opinion every track is incredible but the radio track "Day that never comes" since that song feels as if they just threw random riffs together in order to lengthen the song. The album is very reminiscent of Justice, back to their progressive roots. All who have been Metallica fans will feel very comfortable with this album as it references a lot of old riffs, fills and solos. It's truly an excellent album for any new or old listener of 'tallica. Haha

1 out of 5 stars Miss "Enter Sandman"   October 13, 2008

If you love speedmetal you will probably like this album. Unlike others I miss the group that gave us "Enter Sandman." The last two albums have been a full return to their early days and I hated them.

Like I said -- if you love their early days and/or speedmetal you will like this album. Wish they would think about all of their fans and give us a cool album too though.

CD was in excellent condition, still in original wrapper as advertised. If you are a Metallica fan, this new CD is definitely worth listening to!

3 out of 5 stars Broken and Not Yet Fixed   October 13, 2008

Is this a return to form for Metallica...NO...Is it better then their last couple of albums..Yes, but it couldnt of gotten much worse. There are a few moments on this cd but its just too polished sounding, not quite heavy enough. It's not a turd but a polished turd. A little bottom end would of helped this album quite a bit... A good producer but obviously he didnt get his way on alot of this album...

The best Metallica CD in years. Reminiscent of the "...And Justice for All" days.
