Album Description Special Collector's Edition/CD + Amary Box + Booklet. This special edition of Hard Candy comes in a DVD-sized hinged box with the full album PLUS two bonus tracks. Tracy Young's House and Rebirth remixes of the first single "4 Minutes." Also included in the case is a 16-page full colour booklet with pictures of Madonna and a bag of "Starlite" mint candies. Hard Candy is a brilliant uptempo collection that adds a hip-hop beat to the cultural icon's club sensibilities, thanks to collaborations with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, and Nate "Danja" Hills. Hard Candy punctuates the first 25 years of the album career of the most successful female artist in history with a musical exclamation point.

Who Needs This? July 9, 2008 Doesn't Madonna realize that there was a Counting Crows album entitled "Hard Candy" just a few years ago? She's out of touch.
Do we REALLY need to see a 50 year-old Madonna in psudo-bondage gear...again?! Hello...1992 called...it wants its marketing gimmick back!
BTW, didn't even listen to this piece of junk.
Get Up and Dance, or Get Up and Workout!!! July 8, 2008 Not one bad song on the whole CD. I love music that makes the whole cardio thing painless, and this is it!!! The music moves you, and also helps move the clock forward. You do not have to be a big Madonna fan to love this CD. You just have to love a strong beat, and great workout music.

A sweet surprise July 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I didn't think I was going to like this album. As talented as Timbaland and Timberlake are, their presence in so many new pop releases is getting old. Frankly, their styles aren't really my cup of tea either; I usually prefer the European dance styles used in Confessions on a Dancefloor.
But after a few listens to Hard Candy, I'd be lying to myself if I said it wasn't good. The production is as fresh and exciting as any new Madonna record should be. Most tracks are listenable, danceable, catchy, and FUN. There are some flashy bells and whistles and a few unconventional structures scattered around, but I don't see why people are saying it "doesn't sound like Madonna." This may be the case with a few songs like 4 Minutes (my least favorite on the album), but most songs are unmistakably hers at the core.
The hooks and choruses may be catchier on average than her last album, although there is some weak continuity in spots. The cover artwork feels a little cheap and out of place, almost a regression in taste for Madonna. I liked Confessions better overall, but this is still a very solid and worthy effort from one of the greatest pop icons of all time.
(Side note: For those who want something more similar to Confessions on a Dancefloor, check out Cyndi Lauper's new dance album Bring Ya to the Brink.)
A true talent July 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved this album from the very first play. I have been a fan since day one all those years ago and yes there were a album that I did not like but there are alot more that have given me years of enjoyment both as LPs and CDs.I never know what to excpect when I buy one of her albums and that is the magic of Madonna a artist that has reinvented her self over the years never afraid to put her self out there and going beyond what are the so called boundries of music. She really is the Queen and never afraid to tell it like it is
